From the Principal
Happy New Year, Hoover families!
I hope you all had a wonderful and restful winter break. As we embark on a new year and a new semester, we're excited about what lies ahead.
Hoover is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment for all students. We're focused on fostering a love of learning, building strong relationships, and achieving academic excellence. In the coming months, we're continuing to focus on the growth of our Heroes. Your continued partnership is so important!
Please make excellent attendance a priority. Numerous studies have shown a strong correlation between student attendance and academic achievement. Here are some key findings:
Academic Performance: Students who attend school regularly tend to have higher grades, test scores, and overall academic performance.
Social and Emotional Development: Regular school attendance helps students develop important social skills, such as communication, cooperation, and empathy. It also contributes to their emotional well-being and mental health.
Future Success: Good attendance habits in early childhood and adolescence can lead to increased opportunities for higher education and future career success.
Plus, we love seeing our Heroes at school each day! We're grateful for your continued support and partnership. Here’s wishing you and your family a tremendous 2025!

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful winter break and that your family is feeling refreshed and ready for a great start to the second half of the school year. It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has passed, and we are excited to see all of our students back in school and ready to learn and grow.
As we kick off the new year, we want to take a moment to remind everyone about the importance of reinforcing our school expectations at home. At Hoover, we follow the RISE Matrix to create a positive and respectful learning environment. Our RISE values—Respect, Integrity, Safety, and Effort—are the foundation of everything we do, and we encourage you to discuss these principles with your child at home to ensure we continue to work together for success.
Here are a few ways you can support our RISE values at home:
Respect: Encourage your child to show kindness and consideration to others, both at school and at home. Talk about the importance of listening to others and valuing differences.
Integrity: Reinforce the importance of honesty and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Discuss the value of being trustworthy and accountable for their actions.
Safety: Remind your child to make safe choices in all environments—whether it’s in the classroom, on the playground, or at home. Emphasize the importance of keeping themselves and others safe.
Effort: Help your child understand that doing their best in everything they do—whether in school, at home, or with friends—is the key to success. Encourage them to set goals and celebrate their efforts.
As we head into the second semester, we are looking forward to all the exciting learning opportunities ahead. Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s growth and development. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
