Help Needed
We are fortunate to receive Sack Suppers daily from Kid's Food Basket for many of our students. Volunteers from Kid's Food Basket drop off the tubs of sack suppers daily at about 1:30 p.m. We are in need of help distributing them to classrooms. We are looking for help on Thursday around 1:30 p.m. to deliver the suppers to classrooms. It typically takes about 20-30 minutes and you do need to be an approved volunteer and be able to lift the tubs in order to help out. Please contact the school office if you are available to do this or if you have more questions. Thank you!
Kids Food Basket
If your child receives a sack supper from Kids Food Basket, keep an eye out for their new educational stickers included on certain food items. This is a new project for Kids Food Basket and they are hoping this encourages students to try foods in new ways or pair different foods together. Since this is a new project, they would appreciate hearing any feedback about the stickers!
Winter Weather
The cold weather is upon us and it's important that your child is dressed for outdoor recess. Students go out at least once a day for about 15-20 minutes if the temperature is above 16 degrees. It is important that they have a warm coat, snowpants, boots, a hat and gloves so they can play in the snow. If you are in need of any warm weather gear, please reach out to the school office or your child's teacher and we can do our best to help you out. Students may not stay inside unless a note is provided by a doctor.
ATTENDANCE
If your child will not be riding the bus home, please call the office by 2:30 pm so we are able to accommodate the change.
Reminders..
Drop-Off -Students can be dropped off in the rear lot off of 36th street between 8:15 am and 8:30 am. Staff will call you forward to the flag and open the door for your student.
For safety, we ask that you and your student remain in your vehicle until staff directs you to the drop-off area. Please have your child’s coat on and additional items ready prior to pulling into the drop-off zone.
Pick-Up- Students can be picked up in the rear lot off 36th street between 3:15 pm & 3:30 pm. Please remember to have your student information sign in your window.
Please pay close attention to security officers and staff directing traffic daily. For safety please follow directions of staff during pick-up and drop-off and practice slow speeds through the student drop-off pick-up zone.
Please observe the Right Turn Only Sign as you exit the parking lot. Attempts to turn left have resulted in some extremely close calls when entering traffic on 36th street.
