PBIS UPDATES & STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Student of the Month
One way we use PBIS is to celebrate students of the month. At the end of each month, the classroom teachers nominate one scholar, per grade level, who has demonstrated behaviors which honor our schoolwide expectations of Be respectful, Be safe, and Be responsible. These scholars have their picture taken to display on the Students of the Month board in our front hallway for the next month. For example, an October Student of the Month would have their picture displayed for all of November. These scholars also get a letter detailing what their teachers said about them, as well as a certificate for a treat at a local restaurant. At the end of the month, the pictures are sent home.
Celebrating Students of the Month offers positive ways for our school community to come together to recognize students who are doing all they can to get the most out of their learning environment.
*Would you like to contribute to our Dojo Store? Follow this link to our wish list. Thank you for all you do for our scholars!

How PTAs Benefit Schools
Increased Parental Involvement
PTAs encourage and facilitate parental involvement in school activities and decision-making processes. When parents are engaged and take part in school affairs, it creates a positive and supportive environment for students. Increased parental involvement is linked to improved academic performance, better attendance rates, and reduced behavioral issues among students.
Enhanced Communication
PTAs serve as a channel of communication between parents, teachers, administrators and the school community. They provide a platform for sharing information, discussing concerns and fostering open dialogue. Effective communication leads to better understanding, collaboration, and cooperation among all stakeholders, creating a more cohesive and informed school environment.
Fundraising and Resource Allocation
PTAs often organize fundraisers and other initiatives to raise funds for the school. These extra resources can be used to support various educational programs, extracurricular activities, etc. PTAs play a crucial role in mobilizing financial support from parents and the community, supplementing the school's budget and enriching the educational experience.
Volunteer Support
PTAs rely on volunteers to organize and execute their activities. This volunteer support can extend to various school events, classroom assistance, mentoring programs and more. The PTA's network of engaged parents provides a valuable resource for schools to tap into, enhancing the overall functioning and capacity of the school.
Educational Enrichment
PTAs often assist with organizing initiatives aimed at enriching students' learning experiences. These activities provide extra educational opportunities beyond the standard curriculum, broadening students' horizons and fostering a love for learning.
Advocacy and Influence
PTAs can advocate for the needs and interests of students and their families at the school, district, and even state level. They can address issues related to policies, curriculum, resources, and student well-being. By leveraging the collective voice of parents, PTAs can have a significant impact on decision-making processes and policies that affect the school and its students.
Sense of Community
PTAs help build a sense of community among parents, teachers, and students. They organize social events, family-oriented activities, and collaborative projects that bring people together. This sense of community fosters a supportive network, promotes school spirit, and strengthens the overall school culture.
DUDES & DONUTS
This event will occur from 7:15-7:45 a.m. on Friday, December 6th. We look forward to welcoming you this week!
