CRYSTAL BILLINGSLEA

New Central Learning Community Lead!

Crystal Billingslea is a 7th Grade AVID Mathematics teacher at Paul D. West Middle School and a proud Atlanta native. She graduated from Tri-Cities High School in East Point in 2002, and has been in the education field for over 10 years. Ms. Billingslea holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Clayton State University (2011), as well as a Master of Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University (2014). She is currently pursuing a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instructional Technology at the University of West Georgia.

TRISHA MYERS

Interim Northeast Learning Learning Community Lead!


As a Program Specialist in the Professional Learning Department, Trisha develops FCS talent with professional learning opportunities for individuals, schools, and district needs. She specifically supports high quality professional learning at the district level and within the Northeast Learning Community. She works closely with the Professional Learning Facilitators at each of her schools where she provides expertise in the High Quality Frameworks which allows her to co-plan learning opportunities and monitor how the learning is being applied to see if there is a change in practice for better outcomes.

ANDREA TSENG-RIOUX

Interim Vanguard Lead Coach

Andrea Tseng-Rioux has been the Instructional Technology Specialist at Autrey Mill for the last 4 years. Prior to her current position she was an innovator in the 7th & 8th grade science classroom for 7 years. Andrea was named to Apple Distinguished Educator Class of 2017. For the last two years, she has served as the Vanguard Lead for the Northeast Learning Community. She earned her B.S. in Middle School Education, Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology.

Vanguard PD Day - Jan 5, 2018

Our first, official Vanguard PD Day will take place on January 5th at the GaTech Hotel and Conference Center. This will include coaching support, Vanguard updates, and make-up presentations from GaETC!

Vanguard Stipend

The Vanguard stipend will not be issued until the second semester due to the budget freeze, however, we wanted to make you aware that many of you will be in jeopardy of not receiving the stipend.


If you have not received at least 25 Activity Points & Completed the 1st coaching check by December break, you will delay or not qualify for the stipend. If you submit items before the break, that is fine. But they are not guaranteed to be approved before 2nd semester.

*this does not apply to new members. New members must complete the first new member course.

This year we are providing potential items in categories. This Padlet is not complete, but will help you start thinking of ideas. Start planning ahead in case their is a quick turn-around for purchasing.

Volunteer for the Fulton County Schools Technology Fair!

If you're interested in volunteering for the FCS Tech Fair, please be sure to save the date and click the button to sign up.


Volunteering to support this event will earn FCS Activities points for Vanguard!


Here's more information: "Each year we have a Technology Competition for our students in grades 3 – 12. Students compete in 15 different categories from 3D Modeling, Animation, Robotics, Digital Game Design, and more. Please save the date and consider volunteering. We need judges, room captains, hall monitors, photographers, award ceremony presenters, hospitality people, etc…Believe me, there is a job for everyone and it takes about 200 volunteers to put the event together. We also always need help setting up on Friday night as well."
