Welcome to a New Week
Hey, Grand Isle School Community!
We are approaching our 100th day of school tomorrow, which I know everyone is aware of, and I'm SO excited. The videos and messages sent in helped me put together an almost 15-minute video for staff. Thank you again for all of your help! I will forward any videos to the appropriate staff if they get sent in between now and tomorrow.
It's a week full of celebrations and fun. This week, our Kindergarten classes will also be "marrying" the letters "Q" and "U" in a fun show they've been practicing for. And our Student Council will be holding its first dance of the year on Friday, open to all 5th and 6th graders. The dance runs from 3 - 5 PM.
Summer programming information is scheduled to be released this week, and there are many fun and exciting camps for all students. Once the Central Office sends the initial information, I will send it to families again.
It's wonderful that so many community and school members are willing to spend their time teaching and sharing what they love to do. Wrestling is off to a fantastic start, we have volleyball registration (see the form linked at the bottom), and there is an exploration of bringing karate back to GIS.
In other exciting news, we are putting some finishing touches on a Grand Isle Family Book Club! I love having multiple ways for families to engage in school, and this is a great way to bring reading and connection to both our school and our families. For interested families, we will purchase the books your family needs for the book club. More information to come!
Last important update, tomorrow, a reminder will be posted to the inside set of double doors regarding late arrivals. If your child arrives at school past 8:00 AM, please make sure they stop at the office first to get a tardy pass.
As always, please reach out with questions; my door and inbox are always open!

Ski and Ride Last Day 2/16
- Previous ski and ride chaperones, can you email me if you're available on the 16th to help at the mountain?
- The bus will be leaving around 7:45 *This is 30 minutes earlier than usual*
- Please make sure your child has the warm-weather gear needed for the mountain.
- We provide school lunches to all students who are signed up. Some families elect to pack a lunch or extra snacks, and that's great! Our prior ski and ride days had no lunch issues; however, there was a lunch issue last time with students bringing money from home to buy lunch. It caused students who did not have money to ask others to buy things for them. If possible, please do not send your child to the mountain with money for food.
