Lake Bluff Elementary School Family Newsletter
Hello Lake Bluff Families,
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful break! I know I enjoyed the time with my family.
As we embrace the winter season, we want to inform you that sledding will not be permitted on school grounds during school hours. This decision has been made with the safety and well-being of all students in mind. While we understand the excitement that snow brings, ensuring a secure and safe recess environment remains our top priority. We kindly ask for your cooperation in reinforcing this decision with your children. Please note that during non-school hours, the school grounds are open to the public, and the Shorewood community is welcome to use the space.
We understand that sometimes it is hard for children to wait outside in the cold before school, so we would like to suggest a few things:
- School begins at 8:15. Children should arrive as close to this time as possible.
- If you do drive your child to school and they would like to wait in the car, please do NOT do that on Lake Bluff Blvd as this is a "hug and go" zone.
Thank you for your cooperation as we welcome in the cold weather.
Kind Regards,
Johanna French, Interim Principal
