St. Paul Chong Hasang Bulletin

The readings for the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B focus on heavenly battles and being prepared. The first reading introduces St. Michael the Archangel as a guardian. The second reading highlights Jesus’ perfect offering for us, and in the gospel, Jesus speaks of coming darkness and the need to be ready. These readings invite reflection on topics such as archangels, angels, spiritual battles, readiness for the end, the temporary nature of worldly things, and the everlasting nature of God.

• First Reading – Daniel 12:1-3: I, Daniel, heard the Lord’s message about a time of great trouble. Michael will protect us, and the wise and just will shine forever.
• Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 16: You, Lord, are my portion and comfort, always at my side. You guide me to life and joy, keeping me from decay.
• Second Reading – Hebrews 10:11-14, 18: He offered one sacrifice for sins and sat at God’s right hand. This single offering has made the consecrated perfect forever. Now, no more sacrifices are needed.
• Gospel – Mark 13:24-32: Jesus predicts upheavals in nature and the heavens as signs of the Son of Man’s imminent arrival. He emphasizes the certainty of His words and their endurance beyond earthly existence, stating that only God knows the exact timing.

Second Collection

Infant Baptism
An Infant Baptism Ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 21st, at 3PM. Parents with children under 7 years old who haven’t been baptized yet are encouraged to register at the parish office. Please select a godparent and a baptismal name in advance. If the parents aren’t Catholic or aren’t registered with the parish, a meeting with Father Michael will be required.

In-Home Advent Confession

For parishioners who are unable to come to church due to mobility issues, our parish priest will visit homes to provide Advent Confessions. If you would like to receive the sacrament at home, please contact the parish office to schedule a visit.
