Grade 3 students move to Grade 4
Students entering grade 4 in the fall will need to bring a device to school as another tool for learning. EICS recommends Chromebooks as the ideal device due to price, battery life, fast startup, and usability
Loose Parts...Need More Parts!
We are calling on your help for more parts for our Loose Parts Play!
We are looking for the following items:
- shovels
- gently used blankets
- milk crates
- flex/accordion dryer venting (clean) - DONATED! THANK YOU! The kids LOVE IT!
- used cooking & kitchen items (no rust please)
- thick rope
- used ski poles
- PVC pipes of all lengths and diameter
Now that the weather is fantastic, Loose Parts Play is becoming more popular. Thank you for your help in providing MCS students with more opportunities for creative outdoor play!
Thank you in advance for your donations. Items can be brought to the office. On your most generous behalf, we will happily deliver items to the Loose Parts Play Team!
Got GOTCHA Prizes?
We have an EXCELLENT problem!
So many of Madonna students are spreading God's light and winning GLOW tickets that we are running out of GOTCHA prizes! Again, a good problem to have!
If you have prizes to donate, we are going to have a Grand Finale GOTCHA Prize Draw at the end of June and we are calling for donations for prizes.
Thank you to everyone who has generously donated this year - the kids adore your prizes!!!!
Thank you for sending/bringing prizes to the office. Thank you in advance for all your support in encouraging children to GLOW!
End of the day routine change?
If your child's end of the day routine changes throughout the day, please call us at the office.
Teachers are with students all day and work hard to remain present with them throughout the day. Therefore, they may not check their email during the day and new instructions for your child's dismissal may not be seen until after the school day ends.
Please call us at the office so we can ensure teachers and your child
get the message about your child's end of the day routine change.
Thank you for your commitment to ensure all children arrive home safely.
Be a Sleep Star!
As we gear up for the last stretch of the school year, it's important for students (and you!) to get a good night's sleep. Quality rest is essential for personal well-being and academic success, particularly during busy times like this. See the 'Be a Sleep Star' newsletter for valuable tips on improving sleep habits. By prioritizing rest, we can help students thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Skunk Update
Many of you have heard that we had a mama and papa skunk living under our MCS portables, and that they had babies. 5 babies in all!
While we worked hard to safely transport them to their new location, we certainly were intrigued by their cuteness and could smell them often!
So, we are naming the 5 skunks! There is a basket in the office to submit Skunk names and this week we will draw the names for Madonna's 5 skunks!
Summer Programs!
Check out the follow FCS Guide and the Summer FRN Program Guide. These are great programs that are offered by Strathcona County for kids.
Thank you MCS School Council
For the delicious hot dog lunch last Friday!
