The Golden Apple

RLAS-116 families, it is almost summertime! Congratulations on another successful school year. We have so enjoyed having your students in school and we know you may have exciting vacations planned. This will be our last Golden Apple for this school year. We still have a few end-of-year events planned, so please read this newsletter in full to make sure you are not missing anything. Enjoy the summer break!

We are excited to offer summer programming for students from kindergarten through 12th grade! From math adventures to science experiments, painting, STEAM, and more! Most of the programs begin in early June, so be sure to sign up soon if required. View our one-stop guide to summer by clicking the links below. Summer Program Guide - Spanish

The School Based Health Center located at RLHS will be closed on Mondays during summer break effective 6/1/24.

It will remain open for appointments:

• Tuesday 8AM-4PM
• Wednesday 11AM-7PM
• Thursday 8AM-4PM
• Friday 8AM-4PM

The district requires certain health records for students entering pre-K, kindergarten, second grade, sixth grade and high school. You can call the School-Based Health Center schedule your student's appointment to meet grade-level health requirements as soon as possible at (847) 377-8800.

Please tell the receptionist that you would like your student to be seen at the School Based Health Center.

If you have not yet registered your student for next school year, please do so soon. All registrations completed by June 15, 2024 will benefit from a $25 early registration discount.

If you need assistance completing your student's registration, please contact your child's school. Secretaries will be able to assist you. You can find more registration information on our website.

If you need help registering, your last chance to take advantage of our in-person registration assistance event is June 6 from 5-8:30 at Round Lake High School in the gym.

You should have received your school placement for students entering grades K-5. If you have not received your placement, please fill out this form on our website.

Please also refer to the Q&A document on the district's website for more information about the new K-5 Partner School model planned for the 2024-25 school year.

With high school graduation and eighth-grade recognition ceremonies quickly approaching, we wanted to let you know that there will be translation services available if you require it.

We will be using a Zoom webinar to provide translation services. You will need to use this link: https://rlas-116-org.zoom.us/j/92090119282 for a live Spanish translation of any of the ceremonies. The link is the same for all ceremonies.

If you would like to use this service, you will need to bring your own headphones to attach to your phone or other device. We will not be providing headphones.

This link is not a livestream visual recording of the ceremonies. The link will only allow you to hear the ceremonies in Spanish.

Eighth Grade and High School Senior families, make sure you are familiar with the times and dates below for your student's graduation ceremony. More information can be found on your school's website.
