Science and Innovation Expo 2025
This year Loveland will be hosting our first ever Science and Innovation Expo! The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 9 am to 12 pm at Loveland High School. This day is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the amazing learning that happens around Loveland! The Science and Innovation Expo is a one-day event that incorporates two pathways for students to pick from, a Science Expo and an Innovation Expo.
For more information about each pathway, click here to watch a video, or read the brief description below:
Here is more information about each pathway:
- The Science Expo is a traditional science fair where students have the opportunity to conduct a scientific research project or engineering design project, and present their findings to their peers and community judges, with the opportunity to qualify for Regional Science Day at University of Cincinnati, called the Science and Engineering Expo. If students achieve well at UC, they have the opportunity to qualify for State Science Day at Ohio State University. This pathway is open to students in grades 5-12, and students can present individually or up to groups of three.
- The Innovation Expo is an open-ended opportunity for students to identify a problem and solve it with something they will create, or to simply create and share something creative, inventive, or innovative. Some ideas may be a DIY craft, coding/computer science project, an engineering creation, or anything else in which your child creates something to share! This pathway is open to all students grades PreK-12, and community judges will provide informal feedback about strengths of each project, as well as areas to grow. Students can participate individually or up to groups of three.
To learn more details about the event, how to submit a project, project ideas, and project requirements, visit Loveland's website at https://lovelandschools.org/expo
For any questions, please reach out to innovation@lovelandschools.org. We hope to see you on February 1st!

Counselor's Corner
Happy New Year! A new year symbolizes a fresh start and offers a renewed focus on health and well-being. Help your children start the year off right by focusing on these healthy habits.
Habit 1: Don’t skip breakfast. Teach kids that a healthy breakfast kick starts their brain and energy and helps keep them strong.
Habit 2: Pick enjoyable physical activities. Not every child loves sports. But make it a priority to find physical activities they enjoy and then staying active becomes easy.
Habit 3: Enjoy a family meal. With hectic family schedules, it’s hard to find time to sit down and enjoy a meal together. But it’s worth it to try. Research has shown sharing a family meal means that: family bonds get stronger, kids are more well-adjusted, and kids are less likely to abuse drugs or alcohol.
Habit 4: Spend time with friends. Friendships are very important to the healthy development of school-aged children. Playing with friends teaches kids valuable social skills such as communication, cooperation, and problem solving.
Habit 5: Get good sleep. Pediatricians and sleep experts recommend preschoolers and kindergarteners get 10-13 hours of sleep. Keep those sleep routines as consistent as possible.
