a note from the director
Let’s start with the Budafest Parade. I know there were some logistical items we had to navigate concerning instruments and uniforms to make this work, but boy, was it a great success! Everyone I saw and spoke to loved the Jaguar Band at the parade!! Getting to see all of the smiling faces, the community cheering and all of those little “Future Jaguar Band Members” jumping up and down and dancing as we went by made the entire event a massive success! Congratulations! This was a huge community give-back, and you guys knocked it out of the park! Thank you to our parents who were there volunteering to help load and unload instruments and to help distribute and collect uniforms! As always, we couldn’t do it without you! Don’t forget--if you didn’t turn in your uniform at the parade, you must turn it in on Monday or Tuesday!
Our next item to celebrate is our Region Band tryouts!! We are so proud of all of our students who worked to prepare for this audition and represented the Jaguar Band this week. Here is the list of our students who earned a seat in the TMEA Region 18 District/Region Band. A special congratulations to those who advanced on to Area and will be auditioning for the Texas All-State Band in January!! We are incredibly proud of each of you!!

Also, this week we will be preparing to take a few small ensembles to walk over to Carpenter Hill Elementary School to play for the elementary students! It’s never too early to get them excited about becoming a Jaguar Band Member!
Finally, to wrap up this week, our Region Band students will have a Clinic/Concert on Friday/Saturday at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center! Details concerning rehearsal and concert times will be distributed soon!
Those groups that have rehearsal after-school this week, please make sure you are there and ready to go! We want to make sure we use our additional rehearsal time to become the very best we can become! These groups include our Winter Guards and our Wind Ensemble!
