Stony Point Updates
Field Day Volunteers Needed
Field Day is quickly approaching, and we are in need of many parents/guardians to donate some of their time to have a fun and safe Field Day. This year, Stony Point Field Day will be on school grounds, not The Ruritan. Field Day is scheduled to be June 4th with a rain date of June 5th. Please click HERE to sign up.
5th Grade Promotion Information
Ms. Gately will be putting together a slideshow with one slide highlighting each of our fifth grade students. Please send her up to 5 pictures (can be any age from birth to the present) to be included in the slideshow at pgately@k12albemarle.org.
Department of Aviation Visit
The Department of Aviation visited our school yesterday for a K-2 experience. We had a real plane in our bus loop for students to see and learn about!
Last Call for Responses: Panorama Survey
In previous years, thousands of families let their voices be heard in Albemarle County Schools’ Family Feedback Survey. This informed important decisions, such as hosting more events for families connected to student learning. However, last year, we only had 28 Stony Point responses to this survey. We are going for 135 responses this year! Currently, we are at 58 responses.
Please take 10 minutes to complete this year’s family survey for STONY POINT and share your valuable perspective on how we can improve the education of your student.

ACPS Family Advisory Council Representative Needed
We are in need of a family member to represent Stony Point on the ACPS Family Advisory Council next year. The Family Council serves as a forum for parents and guardians, educators, and school officials to share ideas and exchange information in order to further advance the quality of the public education system within Albemarle County. Parent Council meets monthly.
Please email Maureen Jensen at mjensen@k12albemarle.org if you are interested.
Dragon MAGIC Moments
Last week, students in Ms. Holmes' class released our butterflies! This was such an exciting event because they have had these butterflies since they were brand new caterpillars. 3rd grade scientists were able to observe the complete butterfly life cycle, make predictions about their behaviors using what we learned about animal adaptations, and collect data during this process.
