A Message from the Director...
Hello Ford Students and Families!
I cannot express how proud I am of the accomplishments achieved over the past month. From earning credentials to completing a house, finalizing movies, extricating a vehicle, hosting over 700 people at an event, and much more, the list goes on and on. Ford Tech exemplifies what high-level education and learning look like. Not only are the students beaming with pride, but so are the staff and families. I am truly honored to witness the immense growth that has occurred over the past year. I look forward to hearing the many success stories our students will encounter as they progress through their lives.
-Stephanie Bigelow M.A., L.P.C.

Firefighter and EMT Students Participate in Extrication Event
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, our EMT Class and Firefighter Class worked together on a vehicle extrication event. The vehicle was a brand new 2024 Ford Bronco. The vehicle was provided by Ford Motor Company and Jack Demmer Ford. As always our friend Dennis Lark and Lark Logistics helped us out too.
Vehicle extrication is the process of removing a patient from a vehicle that has been involved in a motor vehicle collision. Our firefighters removed the vehicle from the patient. Vehicle extrication is intended for patients that are physically trapped and cannot exit a vehicle due to their injuries. They may be pinned by the wreckage or simply unable to exit a vehicle. It is a valuable skill for our firefighters to learn. Once our firefighters removed the victim from the vehicle, the EMT class took over and cared for the patient. It was a great day of learning. The skills that were learned will stay with them throughout their careers.
We thank Westland Fire and Westland Police for helping us. We are extremely grateful for Ford Motor Company, Lark Logistics and Demmer Ford for providing this awesome learning experience for our students.
We also want to thank our student from Digital Photography and Media, Starvision, for the excellent photos he shared with us.
Fun At The Detroit Zoo!

Wayne-Westland Attendance Policy
Wayne-Westland Attendance Policy:
District Policy:
Wayne-Westland Schools prioritizes student attendance, student safety, and student support. Our District has implemented a comprehensive attendance policy that will identify barriers families face and provide support so that they may attend school regularly. Working with our community partners, our goal is to reduce chronic absenteeism at all grade levels.
Additional details regarding the policy can be found here:

Family Resource Center (FRC)
Wayne-Westland Community Schools has a Family Resource Center (FRC), which provides services to any student/family enrolled in our District, free of cost. Some of the services they provide are: basic need assistance, access to over 700 local resources, Laundry Assistance Program and material items for those unable to afford them (emergency toiletries, socks/underwear, hats/gloves/scarves, etc.). They are also able to provide school supplies and backpacks year round for any WWCS student. Please contact our Family Resource Center at: 734-419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net. Our FRC also has a Digital Request for Services Form, which can be used to request assistance. Please contact the Family Resource Center directly with any additional questions regarding their services.
Take Charge of Your Internet: To ensure all students have the access they need, the State of Michigan is conducting a Broadband Mapping Challenge, which can help secure federal funds to expand quality broadband to homes in our district. Michigan residents can visit the website to check the map for their home address and submit necessary corrections to the state internet map. This program may be the best opportunity to get all of our students and families online. Link to PDF
