Hello Hornet Nation!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful and amazing mothers out there! We recognize and appreciate the incredible role that mothers play in our lives. Your patience, nurturing nature, and unconditional love make all the difference. Thank you for everything you do!
Last week was filled with excitement at our school. Our baseball team emerged victorious in the first round of playoffs against Chopticon. Next up, we have a thrilling match against our out-of-county rivals, Northern, on Tuesday at 4:00 pm. We encourage you to bring your lawn chairs and come out to support our team! Additionally, our chorus, orchestra, band, and theater groups showcased their talents on Saturday. On Monday and Tuesday our Tennis team will be at North Point High School for their Regional finals. Good luck to all our HORNETS!
Attention, seniors! This is the final week of school for you. We kindly request that you search your rooms for any SMCPS items that need to be returned by Friday. It is important to return all checked-out items, as any unreturned items will be charged to you. However, we would prefer to receive the items rather than your money. In some cases, it may be more cost-effective for you to replace a lost item by ordering it yourself, rather than us billing you for the price we paid for it. If you have any questions about what items are checked out to you, please visit Mrs. Cole in the Media Center.
Speaking of our seniors, we are delighted to announce that they have had a highly successful year with BECA Scholarships! A total of 51 students have been awarded over $90,000 in scholarships. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the amazing support we receive from our community. BECA, a St. Mary’s County organization, collaborates with local businesses and organizations to help fund the future of our students. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication.
Thank you for your attention, and let's continue to celebrate the achievements and support of our Hornet Nation community!
The week will be what you make it, let's make it GREAT!
We Are… GREAT MILLS
