Student Drop Off

Parents have the option of using the GHES car loop or the GHMS car loop in the mornings. We highly recommend that students in K-2 use the GHES car line to prevent them from having to walk further than necessary. Please ensure that students exit the vehicles on the side closest to the building. This is for their safety.

When pulling into the GHES car loop, please move forward until you get to the Hornet sign. This maximizes how many students can exit their vehicles at a time, while ensuring the car line moves as quickly as possible.

For the first few days of school, Kindergarten parents may walk their students to the exterior doors at the car line. We will have staff inside the building to make sure the students find their way to class.

Kindergarten Independence Day - August 15, 2024

Independence day is coming! This means that ALL students will need to utilize the car loops, and be dropped off by 7:30. Please refrain from using the parking spots, as this holds up traffic and causes an additional safety concern.

Birthday Treats

Families are encouraged to send in non-food birthday treats for their child(ren)'s classmates. However, parents are allowed to send in store bought treats for their child(ren)'s birthday. We just ask that you communicate with the teacher(s) ahead of time.

Lunch Visitors

This year, we will be welcoming back families to the cafeteria to have lunch with our students. Each student at GHES will be permitted 4 total lunch visits throughout the school year starting on September 3, 2024. Each visit, we will allow two people from your family into the building for lunch. You can pick and choose dates that work for you. You must sign in at the front office to receive your visitor badge before heading to the cafeteria. Once lunch is over, you will need to sign out in the front office. Again, each student is permitted 4 total visits during the year.

Lunch visits will not start until September 3rd. This will enable students to get used to the procedures and expectations of the cafeteria before adding changes to their routines. We appreciate your understanding as we work together to get the school year started with consistency!
