Here At JRB
Ready, Set, Glow is 6-8 tonight.
It is Picture Day Tuesday, the 24th! Forms went home this week.
What A Great Week
This was action packed. We had the book fair, which was incredibly successful. Our school library is now going to benefit from it with the ability to order a bundle of new books for students to check out. Open house was amazingly attended. The kids flew around the building with pride showing off their rooms and their teachers. Next, we had a fun preview of tonight's Ready, Set, Glow with an introductory dance party for the kids Friday afternoon.
Book Fair Update
From our library team:
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the book fair a success! Thanks to the amazing children and parents we were able to get every kid K-5 a book. So far we have raised over 6k for books for our school. The book fair isn’t over! You can use your child’s left over ewallet at

Any purchases within the next two weeks still help us get more books!
Notes From The Nurse's Office
Happy Friday To All!
Even though we are only a few short weeks into the school year, we have been seeing a slight rise in illnesses in and around our schools. Just a few reminders regarding our fever, vomiting/diarrhea, and medication policies:
- If you feel as though your student needs to be medicated to make it through the day here at school, we recommend that you keep your student home please.
- Students must remain fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, in order to come back to school.
- Students must be free from any episodes of vomiting and/or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
Flu season has kicked off in full swing. The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health have put together Flu clinics across our area. Click on the following link to access the flu clinic schedule located nearest to you.

Kindergarteners have been very busy learning their special song “I’m So Glad To Be Here”, and playing Pizza Rhythms on the hand drums! Ask your child to tap and say their favorite kind of pizza!
1st and 2nd graders have been reviewing and playing our Takadimi rhythms on rhythm sticks in a giant rhythm circle, in addition to “I Play, Who Has This Rhythm?” Some classes have begun “decoding” rhythms, which is where students figure out/decode which rhythms the teacher or other classmates are playing!
3rd, 4th & 5th graders are beginning to learn about the different musical eras. Right now, we are in the Medieval Era, which was during the years 500-1450. We will visit all eras sequentially through present-day by the end of the school year! Ask your student which composers they have heard so far and what was important about some of them, as well as instruments used/not used in music from this time period. Students are also composing their own rhythms and playing them, and each other’s, on rhythm sticks. 4th & 5th grade students are also learning and writing more complicated rhythms.
