Kendallvue Community Newsletter
September 10 - 16, 2023
All Students are Curious, Creative, and Confident Learners!
Dear Kendallvue Families,
It was great to see so many families at the "Lunch with a Loved One" event on Friday. That is a great tradition we hope to continue. We timed it well with wonderful weather. It looks like this week will be an introduction to fall weather. We have another community event this week with our Watch DOGS Pizza Party tomorrow night from 5:30-7:00 PM. This is always a fun event to officially kick off our Watch DOGS program. We have already had a few dads come to school the past few weeks. Thanks to those volunteers supporting this program.
After school enrichment activities are starting up this week. Sticky Fingers, The Knight School, Girls on the Run, and Karate all start this week! We are excited to offer these fun opportunities for our students. We believe learning does not just happen in the classroom and these opportunities for our students exemplifies that belief.
Finally, September is Attendance Awareness Month. We will promote some of the research and information that supports good attendance for student success. This always reminds me of a famous quote from Woody Allen - "80% of success is showing up"! Research indicates that students who miss 10% of school (18 days total) fall behind in reading and math. You can read this article for more information. As always, we appreciate the partnership in assuring all our students' success. Have a great week!
Cheers,
Bruce Lindsey
Principal

From the Front Office
- We are flip-flopping our bus and daycare drop off spots. With more students riding the bus, it is necessary to move those students closer to the school. We will be changing the signs as soon as possible. This will just be for the morning drop off.
- Please do not park in the Hug & Go Lane. This clogs traffic and messes up the whole system. If you need to get out of your car, please use the parking lot spots. Remember to pull all the way forward to make room for cars behind you.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Times for conferences have changed this year in an effort to provide different times for families. We understand the evenings do not work for everyone. October 17th conference times are from 12:00-4:00 and October 18th times are from 3:15-7:15pm. October 17th will be a half-day for students with dismissal at 12:00pm.
Ninja Nation
We are excited to have Ninja Nation for our Fall Fundraiser! We will officially kick things off on Thursday, September 21st. Ninja Nation will be at school on Friday, September 29th. Our awesome Watch DOGS will also have another course available so students will be engaged and entertained the whole time they are outside. Be on the lookout for more information over the next week and a half!
