Across the district we have many support staff vacancies. At Kutz alone we have 5 support staff positions that need to be filled. They are all personal care assistants. Our Back to School Picnic is Friday, September 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Families are invited to bring their own food, chairs, and/or blankets. The fields and playground will be open for children to play. We hope to see you there!

The Kutz staff appreciation committee provided a boxed lunch for the staff on the first Friday of the school year. The lunch was made by Tabora Farm and generously funded by Home and School.

Home and School is still looking for homeroom parents for the 2024-2025 school year. Being a homeroom parent is a fun way to support Kutz and to be a part of your child's school year experience. Each K-5th grade classroom has 2-3 homeroom parents who work together to fulfill the homeroom parent duties. Note: 6th grade coordinators were selected last spring.

Below are the responsibilities of the homeroom parent:

1. Collect classroom dues of $5 per student for grades 1-5, $10 per student for kindergarten
2. Work with your child's teacher to plan classroom parties
3. Collect parent email addresses at Back to School Night to form a classroom communication list
4. Communicate information about school events to your class through email and at events like Back to School Night

(Please note: This requires frequent use of email and timely responses. Home & School relies on homeroom parents to spread information about classroom dues, class parties, Teacher Appreciation Week, Spring Fair and other Home and School related events.)

Beginning the first day of school, Sept. 3, CBSD is bolstering the safety of bus passengers through a new partnership with BusPatrol, a safety technology company, and in line with PA Motor Vehicle Code § 3345. CBSD buses are now equipped with photo enforcement cameras to detect vehicles that illegally pass stopped buses while the stop sign is deployed and red lights are flashing. Every captured incident will be reviewed by a law enforcement officer before a violation notice is issued to the motorist. Read more in an email sent to the CBSD community on August 19.

The application for free and reduced meal pricing for the 2024-25 school year is now open. Your child(ren) may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Learn more and apply by visiting the full informational webpage on CBSD.org here. View the informational flyer here.

The 1-to-1 fee payment system opened on August 14 for families of students in grades 3-12. There is no fee for families of K-2 students as devices for these grades stay at school. All CB students will either receive a device this year or continue to use the device that was issued last year. Even if your child has their own device, we ask that you participate in our program to allow for a consistent learning platform for our students. Kindergarten

• Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, we implemented a “modified kindergarten” schedule on weather delay days. The schedule will be as follows for Kutz: AM Students 10:50 AM – 12:35 PM and PM Students 1:45 PM – 3:30 PM
