Counselors are looking forward to meeting with all 10th graders during their World History classes on October 7th and 8th to continue to talk about career exploration and post grad preparation.

• Transcript Deadlines- Students with November 1st college application deadlines need to turn in their Transcript Request Forms no later than October 11th.

• Transcript request forms MUST be submitted to Ms. Wilson in the post grad center no later than 10 school days/2 weeks prior to the College/University deadline. The responsibility lies with the student to track deadlines and ensure they are doing all of the steps in advance of the deadlines.

• Letters of Recommendations: Students MUST give teachers at least 10 school days before a letter of recommendation is due. Teacher letters are due two weeks prior to transcript request deadlines.

  Step 1: Student completes “Teacher/Counselor Letter of Recommendation Request” in Naviance. Students need to Waive Rights to see letters of recommendation in order for the process to continue. Student prints the survey once it’s completed.

  Naviance>click on "About Me"> Click Survey> Surveys From Your School > Teacher/Counselor Conversation Starter.

  Step 2: Student schedules a time to meet with teacher/counselor and go over the request and deliver the survey from Step 1.

  Step 3: Student confirms with Teacher that the letter has been written and uploaded in Naviance.

  Step 4: Once the Letter of Recommendation is uploaded to Naviance by the teacher, students can submit the Transcript Request Form to the Post Grad office. Transcripts must be requested Two Weeks prior to the application deadlines. BEWARE of Fall, Thanksgiving, and Winter Break. Counselors DO NOT work during school breaks.

• College and Career Readiness Day is Wednesday October 9th. Counselors will be offering the following help sessions:

  • College Application Help
  • Essay Writing
  • ASVAB - students interested in the military
  • Application Day with Metropolitan State University of Denver
  • Searching for Scholarships- Hosted by Northern Arizona State

  • Some seniors may take the ACT WorkKeys if needed to demonstrate English and math proficiency needed for graduation - students will be notified if needed - Here is the information that Seniors received via Schoology. College and Career Readiness Day

• 2024 Colorado Free Application Day$ – October 15-17, 2024

  All residents of Colorado who are applying for undergraduate programs at all state public and some private Colorado colleges and universities are eligible to submit their admission applications for free on Oct. 15 - Oct. 17, 2024.
