The Southside Scoop

All students that are tardy, checking-in to school or checking out of school MUST GO THROUGH THE FRONT OFFICE. We have a new finger scan system in place (very similar to the lunchroom finger scan system) where each student will scan in or out with check-in/check-outs and tardies.

A parent, guardian, or someone on your check-out list MUST sign you out of school to checkout. This is the same as always. The student must then go through the office to scan out before leaving. This procedure must be followed.

We do not accept over the phone checkouts. Please do not call the school for a checkout. Someone on the students checkout list must come and sign the student out of school.

Please remember how important attendance at school is! Please don't checkout of school unless absolutely necessary. If you are absent, please turn excuses in to front office.

Tuesday: Regular 8 Period Day: FALL PICTURE DAY! Please make sure you have your picture taken to ensure you have a photo in the year yearbook! Any questions, contact Mrs. Brewer; Senior Parent Meeting - 6:00; Volleyball Scrimmage in Comp Gym 7:00

Wednesday: Odd Block Day - We will have our first "Lock Down" drill this morning. Teachers will review procedures with students prior to the drill; NHS Meeting in PE gym during Panther Period; 9th grade Class Officer Applications due to Mrs. Fry;

Thursday: Even Block Day - FCA meets in the LC @ 7:15; "Meet the Panthers" Community Pep-Rally at Barney Hood - 6:30; V/JV Volley @ Geraldine;

Friday: Morning Activity 8 Period Day Schedule (Peprally): "Wave Goodbye to the Wildcats" - Luau theme - Dress code still applies; We will have a peprally during morning activity period; FFA tailgate prior to game; V/JV Volleyball @ Hoover tournament

Students: Learn the chant in the Fight Song and the Band Chant “Hey”! Admin/Teachers will pick 10 kids from the student body at the pep rally that are participating in these chants and they will get a special surprise on Friday afternoon!

Please remember to follow our dress code policy! Remember - Cell phones are not allowed to be out or used in any classroom! Only clear or mesh backpacks allowed in classrooms. Fast food and outside drinks are not allowed in the building! Please throw this away before entering the building.

Students are not allowed to exit the building to go to your car, even if you forgot something you really need! If you need something, you have to go through the office and an admin or SRO will escort you to your vehicle. Disciplinary consequence will apply if you do not follow these procedures!

This will be enforced!
