RBV CAASPP Scores, released
We have some great news to share! These past three years, post-pandemic, we have been on a journey to ensure we continue to provide a rigorous learning environment with strong academic, social-emotional, and community support.
The CAASPP scores have just been released. Of the 25 high schools in North County, we were one of seven that improved in English Language and Mathematics from last year's assessment. The schools compared to our academic schools and demographics are (in no particular order):
Escondido High
Del Norte High
San Marcos High
Ramona High
Mission Hills High
El Camino High
Valley Center High
Vista High School
Oceanside High
Orange Glen High
Fallbrook High
Mt. Carmel High
San Pasqual High
Mission Vista High
Westview High
Torrey Pines High
Canyon Crest Academy
Carlsbad High
San Dieguito Academy
Poway High
Sage Creek
La Costa Canyon
Rancho Bernardo
Del Lago Academy
We were the only high school to have double-digit gains in Mathematics.
Comparing us to the County of San Diego and the State, we far exceed those trends with the percentage of students who met or exceeded standards:
RBV ELA: 65.64% Math: 36.63%
SD County ELA: 59.44% Math: 31.88%
State of CA ELA: 55.73% Math: 27.90%
In December, we expect the state to release more good news on our work with the California Dashboard, which measures various other areas, including suspensions, attendance, English Learners growth, and graduation rate.
Congratulations to the surf team!!
They beat Pacific Ridge last Saturday 51-42. That puts us 1-1 in our series so far.
Here are the results:
Lucy Pendergrass in Longboard and Owen Scrivner in Bodyboard reached the finals and both received a fourth-place medal.
Philippe Germann made it to the Repechage heat in longboarding.
Evan Rossel and Jackson Poulter, who were in shortboarding, and CJ Sandru, who were in longboarding, all made it to the semifinals.
In shortboard, Charles Dean and Nathan Gomez advanced to the 1st round of the individuals.
These students also surfed in the contest. They didn't make it out of the first round, but they helped our team get the points to win against Pacific Ridge!
