Experiential Education Opportunities for ALL students
Students who might be considering working in the field of education should join us on a career exploration trip 11/15/24 from 8:25 - 11:30. They will learn about the Teaching & Learning Cohort class option at WGHS, walk to Webster University to experience their AI teaching lab simulator, and earn A+ job shadow hours. This opportunity is open to all WGHS students. Registration on GivePulse and a permission slip are both necessary to participate. Students can pick up up/return permission slips in the Chelsea Center, room 200.
The Teaching and Learning Cohort class that students will hear about is a two-hour, yearlong course open to grades 11-12. It is an experiential learning class that helps students interested in becoming teachers explore that career through observations, hands-on support of small group instruction and teaching in K-8 classrooms throughout the Webster Groves School District. Students will also participate in seminar-style classes to study best practices in teaching and to reflect on their learning along the way. Students who meet the eligibility requirements can earn up to 4 hours of FREE dual enrollment college credits through Webster University.
Reminder: We can help students who are pursuing their A+ hours find connections to service learning that include the mentorship or job shadowing components the A+ program requires. Have your students stop by to talk with us, or independently explore their GivePulse account opportunity listings at wgsd.givepulse.com.
