2025 January Edition
Message from Principal Rowell
Happy New Year to all our Kohler Families! We hope that you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season with your families and that 2025 is off to a great start.
This week, our high school students will be taking their Semester 1 exams. Students are encouraged to use their Advisory time to connect with teachers if they need additional academic support or assistance, in preparation for their exams. Finishing the semester strong is important as these grades play a role in determining Honor Roll. This year we will again recognize high school students for achieving Honors (3.0-3.49) or High Honors (3.5-4.0).
As always please feel free to reach out to your child's teachers, our school counselors, school nurse, attendance office, activities/athletic director or myself if we can be of any assistance to you and your child(ren). Our team is ready to support and we are here to partner with our families.
Regards,
Natasha Rowell, Principal

ASSESSMENT
YEAR-AT-A-GLANCE
This link includes dates that Kohler Schools will administer assessments during the 2024-25 school year.
ATTENDANCE
Is an important predictor of student success.
Thank you for continuing to update the Attendance Office to report your child's absence. If the absence is due to a professional appointment (doctor, dental, counseling, etc.) documentation provided from the provider allows us to enter the absence as "medical" instead of "absent excused." Medically excused absences do not count toward the ten days allowed per state statute.
We want to remind families that any unexcused absences, must be corrected within 2 weeks of the absence, or the absence remains documented as unexcused. Please contact Mrs. Andrews to make these corrections by email or by phone.
BOOK DRIVE
6th Annual "Out with the Old, In with the New!"

CHILD HUNGER AWARENESS
Join us in congratulating Ellie Martin and Olivia Scheuren, two students in our Health Occupations Student of America (HOSA) organization who not only received a proclamation from Mayor Ryan Sorenson of Sheboygan for their cause to raise Child Hunger awareness, but also a letter from Governor Tony Evers.
This month, we wanted to highlight the letter that each of them received from Governor Evers. They will were also recognized at the January School Board meeting and mentioned in the Sheboygan Press for making a difference in our community.
We can confidently share that we are extremely proud of them and grateful for the difference they are making in the lives of others.
EXAM SCHEDULE - Semester 1
HONOR ROLL
We use grades at the end of Semester 1 to recognize students for Honor Roll. Student names will be placed in The Villager and on our social media websites. Students will also receive certificates in recognition of their academic achievement.

Midseason Update
It may be hard to believe but we are already nearing the midpoint of the winter season. Time has flown by so far, but the Blue Bombers are having great success this season. The girls basketball team is off to one of their best starts in a long time, and the boys basketball team continues to play very well. It should be an exciting second half of the season! Go Blue Bombers!
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team is having a fantastic season. They are 7-3 and second in the Big East conference. They are currently on a three game winning streak. During that time they have outscored opponents 230-125! The young team continues to grow, and always plays hard. Make sure you come out to support the team. They have a heavy home stretch this month!
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team is currently 7-2 and is tied for second in the conference. They recently just won the Blue Bomber Holiday Tournament! They beat D3 top 10 Little Chute 67-48 in the championship game.
Just like the girls team they are going to be a fun team to watch the second half of the season. The team has a tough month of January coming up as they face several top 5 schools, so make sure you come out and cheer loudly for the team!

Join the Sheboygan Falls/Kohler Co-Op Softball Team
If you are interested in playing softball this year, or have any questions about the sport please email Coach Bailey at sbailey@sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us. All skill levels are welcome to join! Below is a message from Coach Bailey.
Do you want to have fun and learn a new game? Come join the Sheboygan Falls softball team!
Hi, I’m Sam Bailey, the new Sheboygan Falls softball coach. I’ve played softball my whole life and pitched in college, breaking multiple records along the way. Throughout my time on the field, I’ve also ran pitching lessons, coached players of all ages, and attended multiple Division 1 college softball camps picking up skills and coaching techniques. All this has led me to coaching the athletes this year at Sheboygan Falls.
This season, we are learning a lot and working to build a successful program by getting a little better every day. The players are improving quickly and are starting to learn how to make some pretty awesome plays in the game. I asked them at practice the other day what people should know about the experience of being a part of this team and they said, ‘We laugh a lot.’ I’m so excited for this season and know we are going to have a lot of fun while also creating a future for kids growing up who wish to join an outstanding program some day.
The only problem? We’re low on athletes. If you have any interest in learning the game for the first time or jumping back into a sport you may have played growing up, you have a spot on this team waiting for you! We’re 100% inclusive to all athletes eligible to join a female sport, even if you’ve never played. The current team is awesome and works every day to support each other.
If you’ve never played a sport before and are wondering why I want you to come join us, that’s simple. I love this game and I love creating a community where people can come together, learn skills (softball mechanics, communication, thinking on your feet, information retention, studying situations in real time), and most importantly: Have fun while doing it. I can’t begin to describe the life skills I’ve learned throughout my time being an athlete. In my everyday life, I’m incredibly grateful for all the lessons I learned on the field. I hope I can also pass some of those on to you.
Right now, we are right at the beginning of the games section of the season. We will play about 10 games this season between now and mid-May and practice every weekday. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays we practice from 3:30-6:00 and on Wednesdays we practice from around 4:00-6:30. That being said, if you are interested in joining and can’t make all those practices or times, please still reach out! We would love to have you and are more than willing to accommodate players in any way we can. We are all about learning and growing this year, and that includes flexibility!
If you are interested (or just have questions!), please email me at sbailey@sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us. I hope to meet some of you soon!

This favorite 22 year old tradition raised $28,000 for PTO, KABB, students and teachers in 2024. Rosa Hartman and Shannon Bullard will continue as mentors. Most of the team from last year is returning and there is a need for a “meeting conductor.” Please email shannon@bullardsmiles.com by January 15th. Without your support, we will let the vendors know that the craft fair will discontinue, on January 20, 2025, so they can apply to other competitive craft fairs.
