Dear Alta Mesa Families,

It was a great first few days with your child. I enjoyed seeing so many smiles and getting to know all the students.

I wanted to remind you that Monday and every Monday for the rest of the school year will be minimum days, which means all students TK-5th grade will be dismissed at 1:23. Please plan accordingly and be PATIENT as there will be more traffic than normal. I have attached the campus maps so you can see the correct gate to pick your child up at.

Our first Parent Club meeting is on Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00pm in the Alta Mesa library. Parent Club is involved with fundraising, putting on various family nights and is an integral part in supporting our teachers and students. Come to the meeting and check out how you can be a part of bringing more to Alta Mesa.

Our Back to School Night is Wednesday, August 21 from 6-7pm. Due to our gym getting a new floor, parents will go to their child's classroom and I will have a video message for you to start our evening. There will be two sessions you can attend. The first session will be from 6:00-6:25 and the second session will be from 6:30-6:55. This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher and learn their routine, procedures, parent involvement, and expectations for the 2024-25 school year. At Alta Mesa, parents are a part of the team, and Back-to-School is a great place for teamwork to begin.

If you are interested in being a part of Alta Mesa's School Site Council. Please fill out the folllowing FORM. Nominations are due by August 30th.

School shirts are on sale. Please fill out the survey below and make sure to swing by the office with either cash or a check, written out to Alta Mesa School by August 30th.

Clubs are starting here at Alta Mesa. The 1-5th grade STEAM Club and Garden Club permission slips are located in the office and are due by this Friday, August 23.

We are doing an Alta Mesa t-shirt/sweatshirt order!!! Make sure to fill a form out for each person who is ordering. We will not finalize the order until payment is received in the office. We will be taking orders through Friday, August 30th.

Booster Club is a fantastic way to support the Alta Mesa school community. Booster Club puts on school wide events and raises money to support students and classrooms. Booster Club's first meeting is August 20th at 6 PM in the library. Please join us and find out how you can support Alta Mesa

We are moving back to a traditional Back to School Night which will occur on Wednesday, August 21st from 6:00-7:00. Classrooms will be open for two sessions. Session 1 classrooms will be open from 6:00-6:25 and Session 2 will begin at 6:30-6:55. Back to School Night is for parents to meet their child's teacher and learn how the classroom operates.

Studio 530 Photography will be doing all their ordering online. There will no longer be pre-orders or packets that go home. All orders will be done AFTER pictures have been taken. There are a lot of benefits to this new system. 1) Parents will be able to view pictures before they buy them. 2) Parents will be able to fully customize backgrounds.

Here are the steps:

• Each student will get their picture taken on picture day and will be given a slip to take home to their parents/guardians
• A few days later parents will be able to use the slip that was sent home to register and order pictures
• If orders are placed within the first week of pictures being taken, no shipping costs will be added

All parents, including new parents, should have logged into the Parent Portal at some point already. Why do you need to create a parent account? This is a secure platform through which you will view your child's teacher/class, receive your child’s report card, complete enrollment, and complete the necessary beginning-of-the-year school forms like your child's emergency card. In the future, this is also how state testing results will be communicated.
