My child isn't falling behind. So why do they need Summer Academy?
KCPS Summer Academy isn't just for students who are needing extra academic attention. It's an opportunity for students of all academic abilities to experience hands-on learning, crucial personal instruction, and eye-opening field trips. We provide students with the tools and skills they will need to continue to succeed in their educational journey!
Does it cost anything?
No, Summer Academy is free to any and all KCPS students.
What about transportation & meals?
Transportation is provided for each student so they can arrive safety and quickly to their Summer Academy site. As far as meals, breakfast & lunch are provided at all sites.
Ok, great! What are the dates & hours of Summer Academy?
Summer Academy runs weekdays June 5 to June 27. (No school on June 19 because of Juneteenth Holiday.)
Hours are as follows:
Elementary: 9a-3:30p
Middle & High School: 8a-2:30p
I'm not sure the timing lines up with our family. Is there before- and after-school care?
Yes! Before & after care is provided at all elementary sites through LINC. You MUST REGISTER with LINC at your student's school in order to use these services.
