Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope that everyone had a GREAT Easter! As we enter the last week of MAP testing and approach the final week before our much-anticipated spring break, I wanted to reach out to provide you with a few updates.
The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments provide valuable insights into our students' academic strengths and areas for growth. These assessments help us tailor our instruction (ex. GMAS Prep) to better meet the needs of each individual student, ultimately leading to improved learning outcomes.
Spring MAP testing is an excellent opportunity for teachers to lead students in powerful reflection. In the fall, students set MAP goals. In the winter, students monitored their growth and revisited their goals. In the spring, students can look back at their growth over the year and reflect. While it is important to keep in mind that a single MAP score is just a snapshot of one moment in time, a student's personal data trend can reveal much more about how they are growing. This is an excellent time to celebrate all the skills students have gained and formulate a game plan for increasing personal growth next year.
Please ensure that your child gets plenty of rest, eats a nutritious breakfast, and arrives at school on time during this testing period. Encouraging words and a positive attitude can go a long way in helping your child feel confident and motivated during the assessments.
As we near spring break, I encourage you to take this time to relax and rejuvenate with your family. It is a well-deserved break for both you and your child, and I hope you make the most of this time together.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the MAP testing schedule or any other school-related matters, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office. We are here to support you and your child in any way we can.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we can help our students succeed and thrive.
Wishing you a successful MAP testing week and a wonderful spring break ahead!
Warm regards,
Will Zwingmann, Ed.S.
Principal
