Principal Message
Dear Watkins Middle School Families,
On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I'd like to extend a warm welcome back to the Spring Semester! We hope you had a restful and rejuvenating winter break.
We are excited to continue our focus on providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for all students at Watkins Middle School.
We encourage you to:
- Stay connected: Visit our school website for important announcements, upcoming events, and helpful resources.
- Partner with us: We value your input and support. Please reach out to your child's teachers with any questions or concerns.
- Support your child's learning: Create a conducive learning environment at home, encourage reading, and show interest in their academic progress.
For the most up-to-date information on school closures due to inclement weather, please monitor CFISD's social media channels and website.
We look forward to a successful and rewarding Spring Semester in partnership with you!
Car rider/Walker parents – To keep our students safe in the road and our drive, please follow the directions of our staff and our safety “No Drop” Zone. Expectations during arrival and dismissal times:
-Do not let your student out of your vehicle in the street. Find a curb to park by or enter into our Car Rider line to drop your student off at the front of the school. Even if the flow of traffic has stopped, do not let your student out of your vehicle.
-Do not park within the cones; this is our No Drop Zone to keep our staff’s line of sight clear to safely cross our walkers.
-Right turns only (in and out of our drive).
-Drive slowly.
-Have patience. Our staff strives to be efficient, but safe when our students are moving throughout the streets and drive.
Grades

Teacher of the year
Coach Jerome Cargile has fostered a well-managed and structured environment, where respect is both taught and demanded, ensuring a space conducive to learning and personal growth. Beyond academics, Coach Cargile extends his influence to the football field and basketball court, where he coaches with the same commitment to excellence, instilling discipline, teamwork, and preseverance in the players. His guidance has been particualarly impactful on the young men he mentors, equipping them with the values and skills they need to succeed both in school and in life. Coach Cargiles ability to inspire and lead makes him an exemplary educator and role model, truly deserving of this recognition.
Congratulations Coach Cargile!

Cell Phone/Telecommunication Guidelines
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We want to inform you about Watkins Middle School's cell phone/telecommunication device guidelines. To ensure a focused and productive learning environment for all students, we ask that all cell phones and similar devices be turned off and placed inside backpacks upon entering the school building.
It's important to note that using phones while watching TV often leads to missing important details, requiring rewinding or rewatching. Similarly, students can miss crucial first-time instruction during class if they are distracted by their phones. To maximize learning opportunities, we kindly request your cooperation in ensuring all devices are turned off and stored away during class time.
Students are welcome to use their phones before entering the building and after school. We understand the importance of communication during those times. However, if a student is caught using a phone during the school day, the device will be confiscated and secured in the administrative office. A $15 fee, as outlined in the District's Code of Conduct, must be paid to retrieve the phone.
We understand the importance of staying connected, especially in case of emergencies. Please know that you can always call the school if you need to contact your student. However, to minimize classroom disruptions and maximize learning time, we kindly request that calls be reserved for emergencies only.
We appreciate your support in helping us create a positive learning environment for all students. Please encourage your child to follow these guidelines.
Thank you for your cooperation.
