Grade 1 to 6 Student Led Portfolios in-person ~ April 10 (3:00 to 7:00pm) and April 11 (8:00am to 12:00pm):

• Please read the Student-Led Portfolio letter.

• Please note that there is a staggered early dismissal by 2:30pm for all elementary school students on Thursday. Staggered dismissal times will be included in next week’s update.

• Please note that there are no classes on Friday

• Students to attend with their parents and to wear their uniform.

• Online booking for grades 1 to 6 will open on April 3 at 3:00 pm(pick-a-time instructions).

Earth Week Festivities: In preparation for Earth Day taking place on Tuesday, April 22, Selwyn House students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and challenges to earn house points during Earth Week (April 14 to 17). Additional details will be provided in next week's Update.

Selwyn Remembers ~ A Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) Event: The Senior School Social Studies Dept. and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator invite all current and past students, families, and friends of Selwyn to attend Selwyn Remembers: A Yom Hashoah Event. Please see the attached flyer for event information and RSVP here. Note: For parents attending with their children, please note that the guest speaker’s presentation has a recommended age of 12+. Please use your discretion and be advised that the speaker's presentation may contain mature subject matter.

Summer Camps: As in years past, we are excited to offer summer camp options run by SHS teachers and staff! For more information, see our camps webpage here. We will be adding more options to this webpage over the coming weeks. Invite your friends, cousins and sisters to join a fun and enriching camp experience at SHS this summer!

Message from the Business Office: Last week, Athletic Fees for the 2024-25 school year were posted in your Selwyn House student accounts, as per the fee schedule included in the 2024-25 Educational Contract. Please note, this is a one-time fee, charged only once during this academic year.

Elementary School Play Choir: The elementary school choir will soon begin preparing music to be sung during the elementary play, Mary Poppins Jr. There will be two performances of the play, one for students during regular school hours and one on the evening of Friday, May 2. Rehearsals will take place once a week during the lunch recess. In order to take part in the play, choir students must be available to come to the school and rehearse on Saturday, April 26 from 9-4. Parents will also need to purchase a costume for them. If your son has not already registered for the choir and is interested in participating in the play as a choir member, please contact Mr. Kennedy at kennedyr@selwyn.ca.

Spring Is Here: Please remember to send your son in with splash pants, rain boots or outdoor shoes. Even on nice days the boys will find the muddiest spots to play in.

Fifth’s Disease Reminder: We ask that parents inform the school of any confirmed contagious disease so that other parents and staff can take the appropriate health measures. Fifth’s disease can be hazardous to pregnant women in their first trimester, and for this reason, it is particularly important that parents report a confirmed case.
