Career Advisor Update
In recent weeks, the 6th graders completed a Naviance lesson on Taking Responsibility. The students discussed scenarios where someone needed to take responsibility for their actions, how they may affect others, and how they are responsible for making decisions about their future.
In April and May, 7th graders will have a lesson on how to use their Holland’s Code (RIASEC) to narrow career searches or choose a major for college. Using Holland’s Code helps them make choices that align with their interests, which can lead to positive career outcomes.
8th graders had a follow-up lesson to verify the Naviance Personality Assessment conclusions. They learned about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the difference between each of the type preferences for Extraversion or Introversion (where they get their energy flow), Sensing or Intuition (how they take in information), Thinking or Feeling (how they make decisions), and Judging or Perceiving (how we organize our world). The students can explore careers based on their 4-letter MBTI result.
Upcoming Events
6th and 7th grade field day will take place on Tuesday, June 4th. More information to come from homeroom teachers when the time is closer.
Gym Floor Updates
