Country Fair was a huge success!!
A message from our School Advisory Council:
JPS School Advisory Council would like to send a huge thank you to our vendors, our volunteers, staff, students, families, our community and Mother Nature for all they did to make our 17th annual Country Fair a success! It was so great to be able to gather together again and to support our students. It truly does take a village!
If you could please take a moment to fill out our quick survey with any feedback you may have or anything you would like to see at our next fair. Can’t wait til next year!
Dear Families,
What a wonderful week full of Country Fair buzz....and a weekend of excitement. Wow! What a fun day!
Not sure what we loved more - watching the strategy at play in those last two mins of the silent auction or shopping at the Country Store. The baked goods! Unbelievable and delicious! So much fun!
THANK YOU to our amazing Country Fair Planning Committee!!!! Watching it come together was simply awesome, and we really appreciate all the committed time, organization and planning - which was a lot of behind the scenes work indeed! In all our years in education, we've never seen a parent council generate this much fundraising in one event! Wow! A round of applause to you all! As it all goes to benefit our school community, we sincerely appreciate the organizers and everyone who attended to make this weekend event such as success! Thank you!
Quebec City
The Quebec City trip was a huge success. Students participated in a variety activities including: a walking tour of the Quebec city, scavenger hunt, treetop adventure, mall/amusement park, military activity, visit to Montmorency Falls and a visit to traditional Huron site on the urban reserve of the Huron-Wendat Nation. - Thank you M. Fleet for organizing this opportunity for our students. It was a great experience - and as always, Joyceville students made us proud.
Track & Field
Athletes who qualified for the District Track & Field Meet (top 5 at regional) will move on to the District Meet on Monday. Good Luck Jayhawks and thank you again to our awesome coaches!
SQUIRM: The Musical & Musical Showcase!
Many Joyceville students have been preparing for an upcoming musical performance. Families are invited to come watch the show on Wednesday June 21st. We will have two showtimes that day 11:45am and again at 4pm! Families can choose which showtime they would like to attend, either the morning or afternoon performance!
Looking forward to a great week ahead!!!
Jean Paquin, Principal & Amie Domingo, Vice Principal
June is Pride Month
Throughout the month of June we fly the Progress Pride flag, engage in inclusive programming, and hold events to demonstrate our commitment to ensuring that everyone not only sees themselves in Limestone but also feels a strong sense of belonging and connectedness.
This is consistent with the Ontario Human Rights Code which protects marginalized groups from discrimination and harassment. We want everyone who learns, works, or volunteers in our school board to feel safe and supported, valued, and seen.
This Pride Month Newsletter provides information and resources to help us all grow in our understanding of how we can be allies in our community.
Join LDSB staff, students, and families at both the Napanee Pride Parade June 3 and the Kingston Pride Parade June 17. Everyone is welcome.
National Indigenous History Month
June is National Indigenous History Month. This month is an opportunity to learn about the diverse cultures, traditions, and experiences of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. It’s a time to honour and give voice to the stories, achievements, and resilience of Indigenous peoples across Canada, who have lived and cared for this land since time immemorial and who continue to make significant impacts, today.
During this month, we also celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. This day is an opportunity to honour the histories and diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada.
