NMS Family Update
April 2024
Spring Break and Celestial Event
Dear Families,
Happy April! Spring Break has come and gone, just like the first 3 quarters of our school year. This year has already been memorable in so many ways. The final 2 months promise to create many memories for our students and staff. Our grade level trips are coming up, as well as Ohio State Testing and the final few weeks of the school year. And on April 8, a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us to witness a rare full solar eclipse. Let us hope for good weather on that day.
The 4th and final quarter is upon us. Many students struggle to keep positive momentum going when the weather turns. We encourage you to speak with your students consistently about their grades and assignments. If you need help accessing PowerSchool please reach out to us. Below are 2 important notes.
Please scroll down to review the April calendar, enjoy student highlights, and read an important safety reminder about traffic flow. Please read about out April focus of "The Solar Eclipse" as well.
As always, please reach out if you have any questions or need clarification on anything. Our wonderful office staff are always here to help.
Sincerely,
Michael Basinski and Jean Capacetti

True Collaboration
Each time we walk into Mrs. Williams' 7th grade Math Class, we always see great instruction and students putting maximum effort to learn what is essential.
Stress Awareness Month at NWMS
National Stress Awareness Month, observed every April, serves as a crucial reminder of the significance of mental health and stress management. Amidst the academic and social demands, middle school students often face a multitude of stressors that can significantly impact their overall well-being. From academic pressures to social dynamics and personal expectations, adolescents navigate a complex landscape that can sometimes overwhelm them. Recognizing and addressing stress in middle school is particularly vital as it lays the foundation for healthy coping mechanisms later in life. By fostering open dialogue and providing resources for stress management, educators and parents can help students develop resilience and emotional intelligence, empowering them to navigate challenges effectively. Through initiatives and activities tailored to their needs, National Stress Awareness Month offers an opportunity to highlight the importance of supporting the mental health of middle school students, ultimately promoting a culture of understanding, empathy, and self-care within educational environments.
