The Viking Culture this year is to "Win the Day". We challenge all students and staff to pick 1 goal each day to accomplish. When you have succeeded with that 1 goal, you have "Won the Day!"

Here are a few ways to "Win the Day"

• "Flip the Script" on struggles/challenges and make them successes!
• Follow "Kaizen" - strive for continuous improvement each day!
• "Be Kind" - smile, say hello, look out for your fellow vikings! Remember - everyone is going through a battle we may not know.. Be Kind Always!

Cerro Villa once again was honored with an Attendance Award! For January, CV was awarded the "Most Improved" (compared to December) school in our cohort of schools! Congratulations Vikings!! Attendance awards are a true reflection of the positive culture/climate happening at CV!!

CV hosted 6th grade students from four of our Feeder Elementary Schools on Friday! Linda Vista, Taft, and Villa Park Elementary toured CV. Great job by CV's Leadership, Band, and Cheer students with creating an exciting environment for our future Vikings!

Donations raised help fund research to improve treatments and survival rates for tiny heart heroes. Cerro Villa's goal is to raise $1500 during the two week fundraiser (February 2nd - February 16th) and have at least 350 students registered!

Black History Month is celebrated every February as a time to recognize and honor African-Americans who made great contributions to some aspect of life in this country. Throughout February, CV Newsletter will celebrate a key educator who has greatly contributed to Academia of our country.

The first African American female astronaut. In 1992, she flew into space aboard the Endeavour, becoming the first African American woman in space.

Mae C. Jemison is an American astronaut and physician who, on June 4, 1987, became the first African American woman to be admitted into NASA’s astronaut training program. On September 12, 1992, Jemison finally flew into space with six other astronauts aboard the Endeavour on mission STS47, becoming the first African American woman in space. In recognition of her accomplishments, Jemison has received several awards and honorary doctorates.

National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 5-9, 2024 to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems.

Candyland Acceptable Attire:

• Your shirt can be a Sweet Tart themed (pink/blue/yellow/green/purple) t-shirt or collared shirt to be part of our spirit day! (no tank tops or cropped shirts). All shirt designs have to be appropriate! You may also wear your school uniform. Any additional costume accessories can be brought to wear at the dance only, not during the school day.

• Long jean pants or the usual black or blue uniform bottoms are allowed. Jeans must be in good condition – no holes, torn hemlines, etc. Jeans may be any color. Please refer to the dress code guidelines in your Viking Planner for CV’s general dress code policies. NO OPEN TOE SHOES/SANDALS or CROCS ALLOWED

The Cerro Villa Parent Faculty Student Organization (PFSO) is a non-profit organization that assists the faculty and staff in enhancing the education experiences of our children.

​The PFSO assists with many programs around the school, including dances, Student of the Month, Honor Society, and the 8th Grade Promotion Party. Without your support, these events would not be possible. Most importantly, the PFSO also supports the faculty and staff at Cerro Villa in acquiring items they need for their classrooms in order to enhance our children’s educational experiences.
