The Keystone Connection
February Edition
A Message from the Superintendent
It's been a great start to 2025, albeit an interesting one with our calamity days! We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this winter season!
We are very excited for our upcoming publication, The Keystonian. If you are a long-time resident, you may remember this from over a decade ago. The purpose of this publication is to highlight numerous aspects of our district and to extend our reach to ALL those in the LaGrange community.
The Keystonian will be in your mailboxes this month, so remember to keep an eye out!
🌨️ Calamity Days 🌨️
Thus far this year, we have had school cancellations for dangerous weather conditions, including extreme cold weather, as well as a building closure at KHS due to a malfunctioning alarm.
We communicate closures using numerous venues as detailed below. Please call the Board of Education Office at 440-355-2424 or email yvonne.gnagy@keystoneschools.org if you are NOT receiving messages from our all-call school notification system.

A Vengeful Cold & Flu Season
As you or your family members may have already experienced, influenza-A and COVID cases are on the rise. According to the CDC, seasonal influenza, COVID-19, and RSV activity remains elevated across the country.
To help keep our schools as illness-free as possible, please review the following guidelines from the CDC concerning how long students should stay home with a cold or flu. "Most kids recover from colds within 7 to 10 days. Flu might pass more quickly, often within 5 days. But since these illnesses are very contagious, kids should not go to school, community events or play dates until stomach discomfort ceases, cough is improving for at least 24 hours, and they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours."
Taking these steps as well as practicing good hygiene can help us minimize the spread of germs during this cold and flu season.
