First Week Updates
Every Student Matters, Every Moment Counts!
Happy Friday Eve to our Tiger Families!
We are enjoying the fourth day of our school year with our students! Today, students joined the assistant principals and school support team in our 1st House Meeting of the school year. The meetings help students learn the expectations and procedures of CMS to help them have a successful school year!
Thank you CMS Families,
Regina Treadwell Pertell, Principal
Please see below for updates from this week:
Safety and Security
Our students have done an excellent job adjusting to the new screening protocols with the weapons detectors and clear bags. Students are moving through the lines efficiently and safely; every child every day!
Morning Car Riders
We have worked to make procedures become routines for our students and families, but it does take time.
One of the procedures that we will need to adjust is the car rider line drop-off time. The increased number of car riders, along with our 7:45 drop-off time, has caused a backup on Elm Street. We certainly do not want this inconvenience for our city streets or our school families. This morning, we worked with the Conway Police Department to better navigate this issue.
Effective tomorrow, August 23 we have adjusted the drop-off time for students to 7:30. This means no students may exit their vehicle before 7:30. This 15-minute time change could help with the "bottle-neck" that was happening around the surrounding streets of the school perimeter and support our families.
Everything takes time, so we appreciate your patience as we continue to work on settling procedures the first week of school.
Bus Riders
We thank our Conway bus drivers and transportation supervisors for ensuring our buses run safely and effectively. Parents, there are delays the first few days of school, but our bus transportation team is working tirelessly to make sure every day the delays are shorter.
Thank you for your patience with our first week procedures. Our school staff works hard to make sure we do the best we can by your children and our families.
