LIVONIA CAREER TECHNICAL CENTER
NEWSLETTER~~~~~~~~~APRIL 5, 2024
LCTC Community,
I hope this message finds you well and refreshed after spring break. As we embark on the fourth marking period there is so much to look forward to, especially for our seniors. Our teachers have planned some amazing work-based learning field trips and fun hands-on activities this spring. Students are busy preparing for their industry-specific credential exams, so they will be workforce-ready upon graduation.
The fourth marking period is a fresh start. I want to emphasize the importance of making attendance a priority in the coming weeks. Make sure you are checking Parent/Student Connect often and staying on top of your classwork. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to your students' teachers, or myself with any questions or concerns.
A reminder that marking period three grades will be visible in Parent Connect on Tuesday, April 9th.
Also, there is no school on Monday, April 8th due to staff professional development.
Please check below for the MME testing schedule for April 10th and 11th.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs. Gray

CAREER INTERN PROGRAM & SKILLED TRADES
Students in the career and skilled trades internship programs recently took a trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts to enjoy the beautiful artwork and learn about the different cultures in the world. Students had to work on a scavenger hunt to see the various collections at the museums. They had fun posing like some of the artwork and had a chance to enjoy a warm drink in the Kresge Court too! Great time!
ADV. & PRE-SPORTS MEDICINE CLASSES
Ms.Sparks' and Ms.G's Pre-Sports Medicine and Advanced Sports Medicine classes took a field trip to the University of Toledo's Health Science facility. While there they were able to tour their state-of-the-art medical simulation lab, practice intubation techniques on mannequins, and learn through hands-on anatomy lessons on the cadavers in the anatomy lab. It was a great day!
