Lights ready to be installed...
to create...
Brighter hallways and classrooms!
A message from Father Woolley...
Dear FJVD Community:
This Easter Season, Jesus is Risen, and Father John V. Doyle School is RISE-en!
Over Holy Week and Easter Week, RISE Engineering came to our parish, and changed all the lights everywhere in the school, as well as all the lights in the parking lots, parish hall, and church foyers, replacing them with more energy efficient ones. Two of the photos above show all the boxes of lights that were installed. The parish and school combined are expected to save a total of 90,000 kilowatts a year in energy, which will save us an average of $1,000 a month ($12,900 yearly) on our electrical bills, and the school will reap 60% of that savings – about $8000 a year! While the parking lot lights don’t seem to look much different (which is fine with me, as they looked good before, and now they are less expensive to run), and I have yet to see the ones in the Church, the lights in the gym and other parts of the school give off much more light, which certainly brightens up the place!
God bless, Fr. Woolley
Dear Student, Families, & Friends,
Father John V. Doyle School enrollment is going well and our Kindergarten has already doubled in size! With this wonderful increase of students, Mrs. Coderre will be happy to welcome Mrs. Emily DeCubellis as the Teacher Assistant for Kindergarten! Congratulations to Mrs. DeCubellis on her new position!
We are very excited to announce that we will be contracting with the Highlander Institute for next year's Professional Development opportunity! Highlander Institute focuses on creating student-centered, personalized learning environments. They will provide supports within the classroom, tailored to FJVD's specific needs. Four of our teachers have already attended Highlander's bootcamp, giving them the knowledge and expertise to implement strategies of blended models of instruction this past school year.
As you have already heard, FJVD will welcome Mrs. Heather Skidds to the Father John V. Doyle School community as our new music teacher! She will teach weekly general music classes for all students in grades Pre-K through 8. In music classes, students will sing and play many instruments like drums, rhythm sticks, recorder, tone chimes, xylophone, glockenspiel and more. With an age-appropriate curriculum, students will also learn the basics of music notation, study music history and composers, and experience music of different styles and cultures. Of course, throughout the year, classes will explore the musical prayer of the Catholic Church as we prepare for liturgies and special services. Mrs. Skidds is looking forward to sharing her faith and love of music with all the students at Father John V. Doyle School!
As always, Thank You for your support of Father John V. Doyle School!

Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation. We have already received one check for almost $50 with low key promotion. Now it’s time to “kick it up a notch.”
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
