What's Happening in October?
Dr. Isett's Weekly Message
Week of October 28, 2024
Hello Colts Families and Community,
This past week was filled with excitement and meaningful events for our students! We’d like to thank the parents and community leaders who generously donated their time to host booths and share insights into various professions. Thank you to our amazing school counselors Mrs. B and Mrs. Lloyd for their passion and commitment to exposing our scholars to various career options. I would also like to thank Ms. Elmore whose LEADers helped support our presenters. Our scholars were curious and delighted to explore potential college and career pathways—an experience that truly broadened their horizons.
On Thursday, Mr. Hartling and our band students joined Eastvale elementary schools and Ramirez Intermediate on the ERHS football field to play during the halftime show. Our Band Colts did a great job representing our school. This is always a fun Colts tradition. On Friday, Mrs. Zammit and her ASB leaders hosted our very first Fall Fest, where students visited club booths, enjoyed games, and collected treats along the way. The energy was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see our students engaging with their school community!
As we head into a short but full week, here’s a look at what’s coming up:
Halloween Spirit Week kicks off on Monday in honor of Red Ribbon Week. Each day will bring themed dress-up opportunities to celebrate our commitment to a drug-free life. During lunch, our HOSA leaders will host informative booths highlighting the risks of drug use and the importance of making healthy choices.
Tuesday, October 29th brings the highly anticipated "Game of the Century" at ERHS! Our Colts will go head-to-head with Ramirez Middle School in a spirited basketball game to see which school reigns supreme in Eastvale!
Wednesday, October 30th features an important Red Ribbon Week event, where Mrs. Eckenrod and Dr. DeBerry will present to all students on the dangers of fentanyl. This presentation, held during PE classes, aims to provide students with critical information to support safe and healthy choices.
Thursday, October 31st wraps up the week with our Tier 1 Fun Rally! Encourage your Colts to come dressed up and ready to celebrate (while following district dress code). Let’s make it a day to remember!
Friday, November 1st is a non-student day, so encourage your Colts to enjoy their day off and recharge after an eventful week.
Thank you for your continued support in making these experiences possible. We’re looking forward to another great week ahead!
Warm regards,
Eva Isett, Ed. D.

Tips from our counselors:
We're thrilled to share that our Colts recently participated in a highly successful Career Expo! With 24 diverse booths to explore, students had the unique opportunity to connect with professionals across a wide range of fields—from the private sector, including financial services, entrepreneurship, and machining, to the public sector with representatives from academia, firefighting, law enforcement, and the coroner's office.
We are incredibly grateful to all the professionals who dedicated their time to inspire and engage our students, sparking curiosity and asking meaningful questions like, "What comes next?" Your commitment to supporting our Colts’ growth is deeply appreciated.
A special shoutout goes to Ms. Elmore's LEAD students, who served as outstanding ambassadors and tour guides for our speakers. Their professionalism and welcoming spirit made us proud, and we received repeated praise throughout the day on how polite, insightful, and engaged all our students were.
This event remains a highlight of our year, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved!

School Safety
See something, say something
At River Heights, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community are our top priority. Students, if you witness or experience bullying, threats, or suspicious behavior, report it to a trusted adult. Parents, stay engaged by talking to your children about their school experiences, monitoring online activities, and reporting concerns.
Together, we can ensure our school remains a safe, secure, and supportive environment for everyone. Thank you for your continued vigilance and partnership in this effort.
Witness Statement
We take allegations of bullying and harassment seriously. Please have your student complete a witness statement if they have something to report. If it is an urgent matter, please call the front office at (951) 738-2155, if it is an emergency, please call 911.
