What Does The Fox Say?
January 30, 2025
In recent weeks, there has been heavy news coverage on immigration. DPS has sent messaging to families about supporting all students in schools and yes, there has been training for building leaders and support staff on how to respond if officers come to a school. I believe the District is responding well and leaders are included in the conversations and subsequent action planning. At Inspire, school safety is always a priority. We cannot control all-the-things but we do a lot to ensure we are prepared. In addition to the required drills (monthly fire, twice-a-year shelter-in-place, secure perimeter, lockdown), we have an emergency management team, designated back up personnel for all emergency roles, radio protocols, safety norming for all staff, and post-incident debriefs. Our teaching staff was trained on Crisis-Go, a communication system during school emergencies that the district is working on rolling out. Respective staff were trained on Fusion X, a building safety system and specific staff have access to security cameras. Finally, our Front Office follows protocols for entry into the building. While it can be inconvenient or annoying to visitors, the protocols are there to increase safety so they are non-negotiable. We appreciate parents and guests who are patient and understanding of this. Our goal is to remain calm and prepared so our students feel safe. Click on the Immigration Resources for Families for more information (en español). We know these are uncertain times and fear can be overwhelming so if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to me. I will make time to call you. We are here for you.
Together, we are Inspire.
Sincerely,
Linda August
Principal

School Beautification Project
When the school budget allows, we spend funds on school improvement initiatives. In recent years, we have invested in new furniture, vinyls for the hallways, and vibrant paint to enhance our facilities. This year, we collaborated with an artist to design a mural in the main office and another outside the drama room. Our ongoing efforts aim to consistently beautify the school, creating a warm and welcoming environment for both children and the community. We believe that a well-maintained and visually appealing space fosters a positive atmosphere for learning and engagement.
