This Week at Windsor...
#WEAREWINDSOR
March 15th, 2024
Windsor Families,
It was a FANCY day at Windsor!
For our spirit day on Monday, our second graders voted on mismatch day. Be sure to have your Wildcats wear all sorts of patterns and colors to school! On Wednesday, 3rd graders voted for career day, on Thursday 4th graders voted for dress like a teacher, and on Friday our 5th graders voted for pajama day.
REMINDER: Monday, April 1, 2024 is now a Student Attendance Day. It was a Staff Only, School Improvement Day, but the weather emergency day used on Friday, January 12, 2024 changed Monday, April 1, 2024 into a Student Attendance Day.
To read the full letter that was sent out to our community regarding this calendar update, click here.
Just a reminder, supervision does not begin outside until 8:50am every morning. Students who are dropped off prior to 8:50am will be unsupervised.
New edition to our newsletter! At the very bottom of the newsletter you will see a new section called, Recognize a Windsor Staff Member. If you have a staff member that you would like to recognize for their outstanding work, please be sure to click on the link and fill out the form!
Smart watches:
We have several students who wear smart watches or watches that allow them to text/call parents. These items are not allowed to be used during the school day. We treat these devices as cell phones and will ask students to turn them off and put them in their backpacks if they are a distraction. If you need to get in touch with your child please call our office, we are happy to get a message to them about changes in transportation at the end of the day.
For more information on Cell Phones/Wearables please click HERE.
Windsor Drive drop and go: Please pull up as far as possible on Windsor Drive. The corner of Windsor and Miner gets incredibly congested when cars do not pull up all of the way. This creates a dangerous situation.
Have a wonderful wildcat weekend,
Mrs. Anastacio and Mrs. Soprano

Food & Nutrition Services|Seasonal Menus
The Food & Nutrition Services Department is continually working to provide our students with lunch menu items that they enjoy, while providing a variety of nutritious options for our students. To achieve this, the department will be having seasonal menus this school year. All elementary and middle schools will have a Fall (8/17-11/17), Winter (11/27-2/14), Spring (2/20-5/31) Menu. Many of our favorite menu items will stay on the menu, however, this allows us to add some new products to our menus!
Our elementary and middle school students taste-tested a variety of new menu items this fall, and we have selected several of those items to be placed on the winter menu. We had quite a few items our students enjoyed, so some of the student-approved items will also be placed on the spring menu.
Updated menus will be posted on our website as well as on our app. Nutritional information can also be found on our website. We look forward to continuing to serve our students delicious and healthy lunch options.
Notes from the Nurse:
Dental Exams:
The time off from school during the holidays can be a good time for you to schedule your child's required dental exam. Students in kindergarten and 2nd grade are required to turn in a dental exam by May 15, 2024.
Please refer to this LINK for Illinois Department of Public Health informational materials regarding influenza, meningococcal disease and vaccinations.
Absences/Tardies:
Please also make every effort for your child to arrive at school on time. Missing the beginning of the school day often has a negative impact on students for the rest of the day. Please contact the office if your child will be tardy or needs to leave early!
Student Health: If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, you can notify the school nurse for guidance regarding how many days it is recommended to stay home (5 days with day 0 as onset of symptoms or test day if asymptomatic) per Illinois Department of Public Health.
