ALL THINGS CANVAS
Helpful Hints for TWHS - August 21, 2020
ATTENDANCE
This attendance protocol is in addition to their assigned classwork.
Absences are determined by this activity in each period. This is tied to the TEA 90% attendance requirement.
COMMON TWHS CANVAS HOMEPAGE:
This year, our TWHS teachers will be utilizing a common homepage for their Canvas courses. (See the image below.) Teachers will provide a description of how to navigate their Canvas courses, use the button titled 'How to Navigate My Canvas Course'. To access the current marking period resources like notes and assignments, students and parents will simply click the button link associated with the current grading period.
HOW DO I FIND MY COURSE WORK?
Students will access their course work daily according to the Red/Green calendar through the Conroe ISD SSO. Once they are logged into the SSO, students will click on the Canvas icon. It is a good idea for students to also sign into their CISD Google Account from the SSO prior to logging into Canvas (see Google Docs section below).
We encourage students to use the dashboard Card View so that they can enter the course to access the resources. Using the To Do List, Recent Activity and the List View on the dashboard or just the Canvas Calendar will not provide the whole lesson in many cases. See the image below to view how to toggle between the different views on the Canvas Dashboard.
