Summer 2024
Hello Bulldog Families
We hope you have had wonderful start to your summer! Our first day of school is August 1, 2024.
Congratulations to our promoting 8th grade class. We wish you the very best in high school. You are already missed!
Welcome to our new Bulldogs!
Welcome to the Pack!
There is a lot of information for you in this newsletter.
Dodge Traditional Magnet Middle School is the proud campus of over 400 Bulldogs from all over TUSD through a magnet lottery system. We are a diverse community that reflects the greater TUSD community. We are diligent in monitoring and recruiting to ensure that we continue to successfully serve students from across Tucson.
Dodge is proud of our students and their academic achievements. We prioritize the goals of a magnet school to reach all students to close the achievement and opportunity gaps.
Academic Excellence – Dodge was rated Arizona State Letter Grade of an “A” in 2023. We offer a variety of high school credit courses such as Algebra, Geometry, Spanish, and STEM Science. We also provide intervention supports for students in math, reading, and study skills. Between advanced honors classes and homework help programs, we have high academic rigor and support for students of all abilities.
Athletic Achievement and Sportsmanship – In addition to championships won, Dodge athletes learn leadership and sportsmanship on the field and courts. Our coaches invest in skill development and individual achievement.
Talented Performers – The musical and theater talents of Dodge students have received recognition both within and beyond the district. Students experience opportunities on the stage from masters of their craft for band, orchestra, choir, and theater. In 2023 our students worked alongside members of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.
Leadership – Dodge students demonstrate leadership qualities in their community through various clubs. Our National Junior Honor Society has a large membership that volunteers both at schools and across Tucson. We have an active Student Council that sponsors school activities. We are part of the Tucson Korean Ambassador Program hosting students from South Korea and sending students from Dodge abroad to make connections and learn about culture.

Tax Credit Opportunities
You can help our students get the most out of school years by making contributions through Arizona's tax-credit programs. Contributing is easy, and the impact is immense. This year, Dodge was able to support students with fees, attend events and competitions, attire for our new folklorico club, and sent students to Sky School.
Everyone you know who lives in Arizona can help improve education at your child's school by making a tax credit contribution.
Every contribution, from $5 to $400, makes a difference.
So please, ask everyone you know to Give Kids the Extra Credit.
Information
Dodge Student Dress Code
In addition to the TUSD Dress Code, Dodge has the additional board approved items.
Dress Code not uniforms – white, light blue or dark (forest) green shirts with collars and sleeves; black or khaki pants. Dresses or Jumpers must be solid colored in black or tan or match the dress code top garment color choices (listed above) in cotton or cotton twill blends. Dresses must have a sleeve or be worn over a dress code top. No pullover hoodies allowed. Jackets with college/university logos are allowed providing the jacket is still able to completely open down the front.
Drop Off/Pick Up
It is very important to us that our children are safe during arrival and dismissal. Please plan for the process to take longer than usual at the beginning of the year. Students are still navigating the campus and learning the process.
The bus bay is located at the front of our school on E. Pima St. There is no parent drop-off or pick-up at this location.
Parent drop off/pick up:
To use our main parking lot entrance, follow the flow of traffic around the lot. Students will enter and exit campus through the gate at the north end of the parking lot. Please watch for direction from our staff. It is our goal to get you in and out of the lot as quickly and safely as possible. Cars are not to pass or cut across the parking lot. We realize for the first few days this may be a longer process than usual. We appreciate your cooperation in advance.
We also have access for parent pick up/drop off on the east side of our campus on N. Sahuara Ave. When using this curbside access, we ask that you not have students cross the flow of cars. Instead pull up to the curb for them to safely get into the passenger side of your vehicle.
