Kakisa Lake School Newsletter

Week in Review...
Last week was a fun week! We have many projects and assignments that we are working on! We've had our first Connect North interactive online learning where we explored story starters and had fun with the snowball writing starter activity. We have individualized reading assignments and math assignments and we are collectively making gains!
We engaged in some interesting on the land learning activities last week like making rose hip jam, creating packets of dried yarrow tea, and collecting leaves and learning about the bushes and trees in our community.
We got our Kindness sweatshirts!
All in all it's been a great week!
After School & Hall Schedule for Next Week
Like all things, the first run through can be bumpy and so some of our Hall supervision and after school sessions had to be cancelled. That is life and as we move forward things will become more regular. :)
Holidays
We have a holiday on Monday, September 31st to honour Truth and Reconciliation.
Students have a holiday, a mid term break, October 1-4th as the entire staff will be engaging in Orientation at either Simpson or Prov. Prov for teachers and Fort Simpson is the location for support staff. The school will be closed for those days.
Thanksgiving falls on October 14th and the school will be closed for Thanksgiving, too.
