CCC Fall Term classes kicked off this week!! Over 50% of CMC students are enrolled in college classes on three campuses - Oregon City, Harmony and CMC! Last week, a group of College Extended Options (CEO) students and Pathways to College - Career Technical students visited the main campus at CCC for a tour. Let's cheer them on so they have a great start to the term!!
Midterms for CMC are right around the corner. Now is a great time to check in on grades and missing assignments. Remember, all of our teachers have reserved time to make up absences. Don't wait too long to make up missing work or absences!
If you're in need of Math or Writing Tutoring in any of your CMC or CCC classes, you can get free, in-person help at the Harmony CCC campus on the 3rd floor of the Harmony West building!

Health and Wellness Symposium
On Friday September 27th, over 200 CMC students and parent chaperones participated in the Health and Wellness Symposium at the Oregon Zoo! It was a beautiful day to learning about the wellness themes of nourish, move, connect, and play while getting in some extra steps!
Interested in chaperoning our next field trip?
Volunteers must complete an online application on the district website every three years.

October 10th - ABC PNW Craft Competition (10th grade College Prep students will be invited on this field trip, space is limited)

October 29th - Picture Retakes 9-1:30pm in the commons
November 4th - No School, Virtual Conference (more information to come)
PSAT and Pre-ACT Day
There will be no CMC classes on October 9th and students will be released early from school. All College Prep 9th and 10th grader students will take the Pre-ACT in the morning. All juniors can sign up to take the PSAT during this time. The PSAT costs $15.00. Please sign up with Crystal if you'd like to sign up to take the PSAT.
Tests start promptly at 8:50, do not arrive late. All students will be dismissed for the day at 11:45am. An afternoon testing session is available for students with college classes in the morning. Contact your counselor to sign up.
For all 12th grade students and 11th grade students not taking the PSAT, the district is also holding a College and Career Virtual Fair full of college and career-related sessions and workshops. Please go to nclack.k12.or.us/ccr-fair for more information.
STAMP Test
Next STAMP Test is November 4th @ Nelson High School
The STAMP (Standards-Based Measurement of Proficiency) assessment awards students up to 4 high school elective credits (Applied Arts -AR) for knowledge of a world language. Students are able to use the STAMP to demonstrate literacy in a language(s) and fulfill the requirements to earn the State Seal of Biliteracy at graduation.

1) PWA Future of Nursing Mentor Program: A college-and-career mentor program taking place at local employers and nursing schools. Application deadline: Oct. 17, 2024. Learn more here.

Mental Health Supports
LifeStance
CMC is happy to partner with LifeStance to provide opportunity for students to see a mental health counselor.
The following steps are required for students to receive School Based Therapy Services at CMC:
1. Talk to your child’s school counselor about your interest. (Or you can complete the referral yourself by clicking on the link below).
2. Contact the Lifestance referral coordinator: https://www.westernpsych.com/services/school-based-programs/referral (You can complete this yourself on your own)
3. Lifestance referral coordinator will schedule an initial intake session with a therapist. (Be sure to answer the phone to unknown numbers. Please return their call if you miss it. They will only call twice before dropping services. )

Discover how youth and the adults in their lives experience stress, identify “bite size” self-care activities that can help before stress becomes too much, & learn the Question, Persuade, Refer best practice skills about how to recognize warning signs of suicide and connect someone to help!
