Field day is an active day filled with fun games and fellowship. The day starts with the students rotating to different activity stations. The 8th grade students will be helping at the stations. Parents are welcome to enjoy the day with their child.
Students will walk over to the fields at the CPA around 9:30. They will have lunch first before the activity stations. For lunch we will have a picnic together. Please pack your child a healthy lunch (no Pals or other fast food!).
Then, we will end the day with all K-5 going swimming. We are swimming at the CPA at ETSU. Your child may bring a life jacket, water wings, or any other life preserver if they need to. All K-Kids need to have a life jacket or water wings. If a student does not want to swim, the courtyard will be open to hangout. Please have your child wear their swim suit to school under their class color t-shirt. They will also need a towel.
You will need to pick your child up at the CPA at 3:00.

University School Foundation Updates
Teacher Appreciation Week
We think our teachers make the whole school shimmer, and we can't wait to show them how much we appreciate all that they do for our children during Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (Taylor's Version). As in past years, the Foundation Hospitality Committee has planned a special treat for every day of the week May 6 - 10. In order to make it truly special we are asking for your help! Here is a link to a thank you letter that your child can fill out (or have them write one of their own). We are also looking for some candy donations for our Tay's Treats Candy Buffet - here's the sign-up. We hope you'll join us in our teacher appreciation era as we celebrate all of the great work that our teachers and staff have done all year! If you would like to volunteer to join our committee for the week, please reach out to Christine at hutchinson.christine@gmail.com.

Student Spotlight
Civil Air Patrol Cadet- Erin Rhys Wilson
Congratulations to Erin Wilson on her participation in a recent weekend training at Camp Placid with her squadron. Erin and her squad were able to spend the weekend learning about aerospace and leadership.
Civil Air Patrol is a volunteer organization. They assist in some search and rescue/emergency services missions throughout the country and they have some squadrons overseas. There are cadets who participate in aerospace and leadership classes as well as drill and ceremonies. They give orientation flights to their cadets, and they prepare (although they donāt recruit) their cadets for military branches, mainly following Air Force training and customs. According to Erin, the components that her influence her the most to participate in the Civil Air Patrol was the piloting training and the technology/mathematics part of the program.
