Fun September Library Activities
- We spent September reading books about disabilities such as Six Dots about Louis Braille and Lucky Me about a boy who has a blind brother. In a related activity, we used our fingers to try to read Braille and we solved some puzzles and explored the school for signs of Braille. We found them on the signs in the new section of our school and discovered some of them were done incorrectly.
- We also read the book I Deafinately Can about a dog who is deaf and was rescued from the pound by a deaf owner.
- Another book was Moses Goes To School about a boy who attends a school for the deaf in New York City. We learned to sign the alphabet and attempted the song Take Me Out to The Ballpark. We also learned a few phrases in sign language so we can talk with Mrs. Slattery our cafeteria lady.
