Message From Principal Kinney
Hello
It was a great week- As always thanks for all your continued support!
Tonight Spooktacular Reminders: Tonight
1. Students must have been in attendance at school today in order to attend the event.
2. Students are not allowed to leave the event early without parental permission- no exceptions.
3. If a student is planning on leaving early- a caregiver must pick up the student and check them out. We are not allowing students to just leave.
Fowler's Title 1 Pumpkin Character Challenge
We had so many amazing entries for our first-ever Pumpkin Character Challenge. Each day this week, we chose three individual winners from a bucket of entries, and at the end of next week, we will pick one final winner for the big prize! Please use this link to cast your votes for the best entry!
Purple-Pinky Day
On Thursday, some of our school council students joined the lunch periods of each grade to administer each student a Polio vaccine (of course, this was pretend- a Smarties candy was the does). After each life-saving dose was administered, each student had their pinky colored purple. Did you know this process was done to prevent patients from obtaining a second dose? Rumor has it that this was because it tastes sweet, and many impoverished areas have never experienced something so sweet, leading to many looking for more. All funds collected will still go towards funding doses of the polio vaccine for the few areas of our world that are still experiencing the disease.
Veteran's Day Celebration
We are still looking for Veterans who are connected to our students and town to join us on November 8th for our annual Veteran's Day celebration. Even if you have joined us in the past, we want you here with us again! Here is the link to sign up. Veterans will be treated to breakfast-type items and coffee/drinks starting at 8:30, during which our guests can socialize with each other. Following this social gathering, we will begin our celebration, which will last about 30 minutes.
Also, if you have not submitted an "Honor A Veteran" slide, please consider doing so. This slide can be of anybody in your life who has served. Here is the link.

Summer Reading Challenge
Summer Reading Challenge
So. You’ve read the book. Now what?
Well, we chose the books for a particular reason. Each book has themes of belonging and builds empathy for what others have experienced. These are the building blocks for a strong community.
To build a greater sense of community right here at Fowler, we challenge you to create a representation of community and empathy!!
What does this look like? Here are some ideas!!
A Poem
A painting
A poster representing why community is important and what makes Fowler a great community
A song
These are just some ideas, feel free to get creative!
Why participate?
YOU are an important part of our Fowler community and we would love to see what you have to say!
All submissions can be turned in to Mr. Snyder and/or Mr. Kinney for display around the school by October 31!!
The grade who turns in the most gets an extra 30 minute recess covered by the principals!!
Finally, if you are participating in the Pumpkin Character Challenge, you can tie the two together!!
