Luce Notes
Principal Weekly Update to Caregivers
Principal Lamour Update
Dear Luce Caregivers,
Tomorrow is Veterans Day, and there will be no school. This day serves as an opportunity to honor the men and women who have sacrificed their time and, in many cases, their lives to ensure the safety and freedom of our nation. Today, we enjoy certain liberties thanks to their dedication and service.
At the Luce, we recognized and celebrated our local veterans during our annual Veterans Day Assembly.
I would like to extend my gratitude to the Luce CAPT for sponsoring the reception, as well as to the 5th-grade teachers for guiding students in crafting thoughtful essays. A special shoutout to our 5th graders who either wrote or delivered heartfelt speeches to our honored guests.
Tomorrow, I encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our veterans and, if possible, thank a veteran personally.
Please refer to this week’s Smore newsletter for further updates and information.
Recognizing Diwali
On November 1, we celebrated Diwali, the Festival of Lights, which is India’s most significant and cherished holiday of the year. Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

Thank you for recognizing and honoring this special tradition!

School Safety Update
To enhance the safety of our students, your children, and our staff, we ask for your cooperation with a few important procedures:
Please Do Not Hold Doors Open: You may have noticed new signs at our entrances requesting that visitors do not hold doors open for others. Please refrain from doing so, as it helps maintain building security.
Early Dismissals: If you are picking up your child early, they will meet you at the front doors for dismissal.
Picking Up a Sick Child: If your child is feeling unwell, please proceed to the nurse's office for pick-up.
We appreciate your continued support in keeping our school community safe.
