ALC Students and Families:
It’s hard to believe we are already in February and getting into a groove of Semester 2. We have had quite a few celebrations with recent graduates who have achieved an incredible milestone in their educational journey, and we can’t wait to celebrate more.
We recently had a Town Hall where all students are asked to come together so we are all hearing and communicating the same message. The goal of this meeting is to reiterate our ultimate goal of meeting graduation requirements as well as a share out of upcoming events/opportunities for our students to participate in. Below are the messages shared with our scholars:
Attendance - This is crucial. When you are here, you need to be in your designated space. If you are present in the building and not in your space for 2 periods before lunch, you will be asked to leave (dismissed for the day) and try again the following day.
Look at credits needed if your goal is to graduate this year. Be realistic with your goals. Depending on how close you are, there need to be drastic changes to habits that have been occurring.
We will be checking out chromebooks to students who still need one so you have opportunities to get school work completed
Nicole will be taking students to college visits. See her for opportunities that come up throughout the spring.
It's Operation Graduation time. Kari will be coming around to celebrate you every time you reach your goal and/or achieve 75 units. Keep grinding. We are here for you. Show up. Ask questions as needed. Let's do this!
As always, if you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to reach out at any time.
Thanks,
Kari Varichak
