Principal's Note
Greetings, Parents
We had another successful week! Thank you for all the support and donations sent in for Teacher Appreciation Week. LCE has the best teachers around!
We are down to the last 3 weeks of school and I am certain that everyone is ready for summer vacation. Please encourage your child to remain focused as there is still so much left to learn. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Have a terrific week ahead!

PTO Board Nominations
LCE PTO is counting down to summer break and that means it’s almost time for Executive Board Elections! We would LOVE to have you join us next year! Please take a look at the position descriptions below. If any of them interest you then please email your name, the position you’re nominating yourself for, and a 2-3 sentence bio to lacostepto@gmail.com. Self nominations are due by May 6th and our election will take place on May 9th.
Students of the Week
PK Student - Olivia Molina
Olivia is always sweet and caring to her friends. She follows the classroom rules and helps remind others to do the same!
4th Grader - Sarah Tercero
Sarah is one of my "go getters", who always inspires me! She's helped so much this school year with her ideas for announcements, and suggestions for yearbook! Sarah has a very active and creative mind, and I love that she can express it everyday!

Counselor's Corner
May is Mental Health Awareness month. MVISD designated May 13th - May 17th as Green Ribbon Week. Students are encouraged to dress up and will be provided stickers/bracelets. At LCE students have the choice to dress up with the ABC countdown as well. You can help by checking in with your child after school. It is common for children to answer automatically with “fine” when asked how their day was. Try asking “What was something good about today?,” “What was a challenge from today?”
As always the counseling team is available should you ever have concerns or questions.
Community First Food Pantry
LCE is hosting a community Food Pantry. It is located in the front of the school and is accessible 24/7. Inventory is checked weekly to ensure there are items available.
It is accessible to families in need. If you are in great need, please contact the counseling department and we can provide additional resources.
Upcoming Webinars for Military Families
Anchored4Life
Meet our Team Members: Olivia R., Addison H., Edward, Addison V., Olivia K., Natalia, Emily, and Brice!
Anchored4Life is a military funded peer-to-peer club focused on change and resiliency. Our student team will be providing monthly activities to peers, new student tours, create character development quotes, and initiate a service project.
Our team has kits to support our students and families for deployment, reunification, welcome (new students), and departure. We also have divorce and grief kits our advisors can give out. Please reach out to the program advisors, Mrs. Rakowitz and Mrs. Frank to inquire. Kits are available for ALL our students, not just military families!
