Lake Bluff Elementary School Family Newsletter
Dear Lake Bluff Families,
Tuesday, October 1st was the kick-off of our PTO’s main fundraiser, the Lake Bluff Beagle Dash (occurring October 10). This year, our school is raising funds that will allow the PTO to continue to provide and expand enrichment opportunities that strengthen our school community. Our goal is to raise at least $25,000, and, if you'd like to, we are inviting YOU to help!
Funds raised last year were used to finance The All School Read, Math Game Night, Family Movie Night, yearbooks for EVERY student, Educational Grants, Artist in Residence, New Family Popsicle Social, 5th and 6th Grade Dance, 6th Grade Celebration, Welcome Back Breakfast for Staff, and so much more.
Please click here to find out how to register, sign up to volunteer, prizes and more. We are so grateful to have such a supportive community, so thank you for all you do. We truly could not do it without you!
We did meet our first goal of registrations, so the students won a "Mismatch Day" on Monday, October 7. We can't wait to see what outfits they come up with! I am still working on mine.
I hope you all enjoy your weekend,
Johanna French, Interim Principal
Walk To School Day
What an amazing start to the day! The SHS and SIS Band were playing together, there was a couple selfie stations with the Beagle, a DJ, The Shorewood Police greeting students and pencil and sticker giveaways. WOW!! Thank you PTO for organizing and all the amazing volunteers!
A Message from Rebecca Benedict, Dean of Students
Reminder: Playground Use Outside of School Hours
As a friendly reminder, our school playground is supervised during school hours ONLY. Outside of these times, it is important for parents and guardians to actively supervise their children to ensure safe play. We appreciate your cooperation in helping maintain a positive experience for all families who enjoy this space after school hours. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe and respectful!

Meet our Staff
Every week we will try to showcase some important people that you may not know who contribute to the success of Lake Bluff.
Tracy Yothsackda (Ms. Yo)
Ms. Yo is our extraordinary health aid. In addition to caring for our students and their medical needs, Ms Yo is also our PTO president and a Lake Bluff Parent. You can reach her in the health office
from 8:15-3:30 (2:30 on Wednesdays). Ms. Yo works together closely with our district nurse Kelly Barlow Eichman.
Ms. Yo's Fun Fact: Ms. Yo and her husband, while working for Midwest Airlines, went to Rome JUST for dinner. Now that is one fun date!
Impact of Technology on Kids
Franklin Public Schools and Pewaukee School District will be hosting a Family Info Series that will educate parents about the impact that technology is having on our children. Franklin Public Schools is targeting audiences of the Milwaukee Metro area while Pewaukee is targeting the Waukesha area although anyone from anywhere can attend either.
